Sometimes you have to go back to understand why you left.
16 years ago, Rome was a new beginning. What started with the unknown became six years of my life. Beautiful, chaotic, intense. A city and a chapter that gave me memories, mistakes, people and lessons I’ll carry forever.
Then our roads divided.
I said, “Ciao, ciao,” and left.
And then came London.
Grey skies. Foggy mornings. Dark days. Nothing romantic about starting again from zero.
But somehow, under those dark clouds, I found more light.
10 years of building.Working. Growing. Finding my people, finding myself and, without even realising it, building a life that became mine.
This summer, I went back to Rome.
One night. One day.
That was enough.
Rome still had its beauty, its noise, its memories. But for the first time, I didn’t look at it wondering what I had left behind.
I looked at it and understood everything I had gained by leaving.
Rome gave me a chapter.
London gave me a life.
One taught me how to leave.
The other taught me how to stay. #chapter #roma #london #rainyday #dolcefarniente taken in Rome, Italy by @silgcris

Some journeys are remembered for the destination. Others, for everything that unfolds along the way.
For me, Positano began in Bomerano, with my first steps along Il Sentiero degli Dei.
High above the Amalfi Coast, the path feels suspended between mountain and sea — ancient terraces, rugged cliffs and the Mediterranean stretching endlessly below. There were moments when walking seemed almost secondary; the landscape simply asked to be admired.
And then, an unexpected pleasure: Il Chiosco del Sentiero degli Dei — a tiny house tucked into the mountains, serving homemade food. Unassuming, authentic and utterly charming.
Perhaps this is Italian luxury in its purest form: something homemade, a magnificent view, and the luxury of time.
From there, I continued towards Nocelle before beginning the long descent into Positano — step after step, watching the mountains slowly give way to the unmistakable beauty of the coast.
Eventually, I arrived in the centro storico.
Tired legs, certainly. But also that quiet satisfaction of knowing I hadn’t simply arrived in Positano.
I had walked there.
Il bello del viaggio non è soltanto arrivare, ma tutto ciò che si incontra lungo il cammino. 🇮🇹

Your concerts are more than music. Sunday was pure energy, connection, and love. No matter where we came from, we all reunited with one shared purpose: to celebrate life, freedom, and each other. The message is universal—one heart, one voice: Let Love Rule. #absolutelove #crystalpalace #letloverule Thank You @lennykravitz by @silgcris

Some performances stay with you long after the curtain falls. Last night’s premiere of Bellini’s I Puritani at Covent Garden was one of those evenings.
@lisetteoropesa Elvira was simply unforgettable. The beauty of the voice, the effortless coloratura, the endless legato, those impossibly delicate pianissimi… but above all, the emotion. Every note felt truthful. You didn’t just sing Bellini—we lived every moment of Elvira’s joy, despair, and hope.
You could feel the audience holding its breath during the mad scene, and the eruption of applause at the end said it all. Performances like this remind you why live opera is unlike anything else. @royalballetandopera #bellini #ipuritani #summertime #operalover taken in Royal Opera House by @silgcris

London teaches you that a rich life is measured not by what you own, but by what moves you. Art isn’t confined to galleries—it lives on the stage, in the melodies we carry with us, and in the places that leave us changed. Grateful for a season filled with beauty, creativity, and moments that will stay with me long after summer fades. After 35 years, I Puritani returns to Covent Garden. Bellini’s final opera is a story of love tested by politics, loyalty, and misunderstanding. #IPuritani #bellini #royaloperahouse #coventgarden #belcanto taken in Richmond, Surrey, United Kingdom by @silgcris

Sandra Oh is absolutely magnetic in The Misanthrope at the National. She is incredible—funny, fierce and vulnerable all at once. I loved how this modern take on Molière felt so relevant, exploring honesty, ego and the way we perform ourselves in public. It was smart, entertaining and gave me plenty to think about afterwards. #molière #misantropia #nationaltheatre @iamsandraohinsta taken in Royal National Theatre by @silgcris

Tonight’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Shakespeare’s Globe reminded me how differently great theatre can interpret the same masterpiece.
Emily Lim’s production transforms the Globe into a joyous, immersive celebration, blurring the line between audience and performer. Vibrant, playful, and full of energy, it invites us to step inside the dream.
By contrast, Gigi Proietti’s 2011 Rome production was rooted in the rich tradition of Italian theatre—less immersive, perhaps, but driven by extraordinary actors, comic precision, and a deeper sense of poetic enchantment.
Two unforgettable visions of Shakespeare: one draws you into the forest, the other asks you to stand back and marvel at its magic. Both capture the wonder of a play that continues to reinvent itself.
