Tonight we're continuing our Cinéjam series with The fall of the house of Usher, a 1928 work that, with its finely crafted gothic atmosphere and gloomy settings, perfectly captures the Halloween spirit.
The story of this Jean Epstein feature film, inspired by two Edgar Allan Poe's novels, revolves around a man invited to a mansion to investigate a woman whose health is deteriorating as her husband paints her portrait.
The film will be screened with live electronic music improvisation by the musicians of the @silicon_beats collective.

This Saturday, under the Van Horn overpass (behind new STM building) we gonna continue our series of Cinéjam events centered on improvised music and cinéma. For this outside session, the spotlight will be on The Toll of the Sea, a 1922 melodrama best known for lauching the career of Anna May Wong, the first Chinese-American movie star. One of the first feature films shot in Technicolor, the film also stands out for its vibrant colors and lush garden settings -making it particularly well-suited for an outdoor screening.
The film will be screened in the Bellechasse Park (bring your chairs/blankets), under the overpass, with live electronic music improvisation by musicians of the Silicon Beats collective.
If it rains, the event will be rescheduled the following day, on Sunday, September 13th by @silicon_beats
