System Preferences feat. DJ_Dave — Meet Sarah, the artist who took live coding mainstream and cemented herself as one of pop’s most inventive acts in the process. We linked up to learn more about the person behind the moniker and, of course, hit her with a quick taste test.

Tap in to hear how DJ_Dave is feeling about Arca, Dancing, Cool Math Games, and more.

And go request @silkintel for a surprise :)

System Preferences feat. Pretty Sick — Meet Sabrina (AKA Pretty Sick), the NYC born-and-raised rock pop wunderkind behind one of our favorite new records, Anarchy. We posted up with Sabrina in Prospect Park to get her certified read on today’s culture and the media we keep coming back to.

Tap in to hear how Sabrina is feeling about Gossip Girl, Vans, PJ Harvey, and much more.

And go request @silkintel for a surprise :)

System Preferences feat. Tommy Fleece — the happy go lucky electronic pop artist from Detroit who just dropped “Ultrasonic”.

We thought it would be chill to link Mr. Fleece at Tompkins and observe the skaters, perhaps get around to asking a few of our generation’s most pressing questions. But when he pulled up with the skinny selvedge, Birkenstocks, a newsies hat and an unshakeable desire to freestyle for us, we knew we were in for something else entirely.

Tap in to hear the bars of all time + every take you never knew you needed to hear regarding the mall, phone cases, and Miranda Cosgrove.

And go request @silkintel for a surprise… we’re launching the Silk app soon and we’re about to let in our last wave of beta testers :)

System Preferences feat. Frost Children — Say hi to Angel and Lulu, the two siblings behind everyone’s favorite EDM-infused pop project.

At the first annual Frost Fest(!!!), we were graciously welcomed backstage to ask the pair some of our most burning questions. A while later, they went out to play 2 hours worth of pure bangers to what must have been close to 3,000 heads. For lack of better words, it was awesome. Thank you so much for having us :)

Tap in to hear how Frost Children is feeling about Scott Pilgrim, MGMT, La Apparel, and David Guetta.

And go request @silkintel for a surprise :)

System Preferences feat. 1ldk — the Tokyo based electronic duo behind bilingual (and at times trilingual) bangers like Femme Fatale and Second choice. A true Silk favorite.

With Goos having moved from Amsterdam and Yiqing from Beijing, the pair offer an incredibly unique perspective on today’s modern indie pop moment. It’s endearing, infectious, and as danceable in the club as it is in your own bedroom.

Following their NYC debut at Night Club 101 last week, we hit the East River ferry with Goos and Yiqing before they skipped town for their next show in LA.

Tap in to hear how the duo is feeling about Skrillex, konbini, note taking apps, and beer.

And go request @silkintel for a surprise :)

Mic Check feat. the sound chalk makes — Before embarking on his journey out west to this week’s Silk event in LA, Kabir Parekh, our headliner, sat down with us for a quick chat over coffee near our headquarters in New York.

Hailing from Mumbai, India, the artist offers a fresh, energetic and at times emotional take on today’s ever popular electroclash sound. Emoclash anyone? (Sorry)

Tap in to hear how Mr. Chalk feels about Wikipedia, Dubstep, and… Flip Flops.

And last but certainly not least — don’t forget to hit the link in bio for tickets to see the sound chalk makes, CFCF, and more LIVE IN LOS ANGELES this Friday night. There will be great music, an incredible roster of vendors selling their wares, artists showing their work, and hopefully tons of people just totally falling in love. Absolute love fest. Field Study.
