![If you asked me "why shibari?" I wouldn't be able to tell you if it was the act of tying or co-creating trust and connection that challenges traditional norms of consent in intimate relationships.
I care deeply about interpersonal dynamics and the power of desire and I've been able to translate this thinking into teaching through my work overtime.
If you've ever attended my workshops or rope jams, you'd know that I have a few central beliefs to my teaching: 1) I trust you to discern what feels good for you & your experience 2) I find it deeply respectful to not spoonfeed people the "correct" way to teach about connection. Instead, I offer you a sense of autonomy to learn from each other. 3) Your desire is central to the process of exploration & imagination.
After a long time, I am craving to apply these principles to my own creative practice to grow, to change and to follow my own path of desire. Truthfully, it's quite nerve whacking and at the same time, I'm ridden the excitement. Im rooting so hard for (me &) whatever that's to come out of this process.
I am grateful for your trust in @sillyhands.shibari and hence, Im leaving you with something that's also a way for me to honour this labour of love β more on this in July. π
Thank you @bijoyyyy for being so in-sync with my creative ideas and capturing the essence of the art with so much softness π€ @imp__._ for bringing your tender energy and natural grace into this shoot. I remember feeling full of gratitude and hope on this day.
