Halloween may be over but THE SILLY SHALL REMAIN!!

A huge thank you to all the silly sausages who came trick or treatin’ this weekend!! And to @aarvengoods for organising it all and raising a bunch of cash to our beloved @rnli 🫶

I love that so many of you were in for some special spooky trinkets too!

Same time next year? (Or tomorrow, SILLY doesn’t need an excuse) 🤡🧡

Behind every small independent business is a hardworking team of dedicated professionals… 👀👋

The SILLY board of directors would like to thank Jane Asher for her service. We truly couldn’t have done it without her🫡🧡✨

Some recently sold bits and things and such in SILLY! 🧡✨

One of my favourite things about having a physical shop is watching someone pick something up and scream “OH MY GOD I USED TO HAVE ONE OF THESE!” and suddenly we’re sharing stories about childhood memories, collections and people and times we miss.

Because SILLY has always been about more than buying nostalgic silly things. It’s the memories attached to them, the conversations they start and the joy of finding something you didn’t even know you just NEEDED in your life.

Did you have a story to share of any of this weeks line up? DO TELL 👀🧡👏

And what a week it’s been! Thank you to all the new followers, silly visitors and of course Mr Elija Wood for coming to Margate to see my silly wee shop! Don’t think I’ll ever get over it tbh 🧡👏✨

Whether you’re new here, old here or just accidentally here, WELCOME TO SILLY!!!! Come for the trinkets, stay for the nonsense, cos we’re only getting started 🧡🤩✨

LOOK MUM!!! ELIJAH WOOD CAME TO MARGATE JUST TO VISIT MY SHOP !! 😭🧡

I genuinely cannot believe I’m writing this, but after finding my silly little shop on social media, Frodo himself decided to make a special trip to Margate just to visit SILLY!!! And what an absolute DELIGHT he was!!!

Silly loves silly, and as much as I could have spent hours talking to him about wigs, LotR or how excited I am for the new season of Yellowjackets, the most wonderful part was that we didn’t talk about any of that!

Yapping away like old friends, we talked about everything and nothing. Our families, death, childhood memories and all the trinkets bits and things and such that we collected along the way. Honestly, I could have talked to him for HOURS (and he was in for almost two!)

When I opened SILLY, I wanted to fill it full of things that made me smile hoping they might do the same for others. What I didn’t realise was just how many wonderful people and conversations those not so silly little things would bring into my life.

And to have someone so wonderful and silly that I admire come all this way and tell me how proud I should be of what I’ve created, how special SILLY is and how much he enjoyed our conversation… I honestly can’t tell you what that meant to me.

ANYWAY, ELIJAH BLOODY WOOD HAS A SILLY BAG FULL OF TRINKETS, BITS AND THINGS AND SUCH AND A @maximillianboxer ORIGINAL AND IM SO HAPPY!!! 🧡👏

POV: your silly orange shop in Margate turns one but instead of throwing a birthday party you give a bunch of grown adults kazoos and march them down the street 👏🧡📯

Last weekend was the first SILLY SAUSAGE BIRTHDAY STROLL and it was everything I could’ve ever dreamed of 🥹

SILLY has always been so much more than nostalgic trinkets, bits and things and such. It’s finding JOY in the everyday, collecting memories, making people smile and never EVER being too grown up to have a FUN and SILLY TIME!!!

And if Saturday proved anything it’s that you don’t need a big budget or a fancy party to create a whole lot of joy. Sometimes you just need a silly little idea and a few people who are silly enough to join in!

Thank you to every single person who’s been part of our first year, whether you’ve visited the shop, supported online, hit like on a post or joined the SILLY SAUSAGE STROLL. I couldn’t have done any of this without you. Especially you, my village, you know who you are 🧡

So here’s to taking being silly a little more seriously!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY @sillymargate! Proud of us 🎈✨

The SILLY SAUSAGE BIRTHDAY STROLL IS LESS THAN 24 HOURS AWAY! 👏🧡

Join me @lowlife_margate from 10am for a wee coffee before we leave at 11am for the silliest pavement parade down Northdown Road to raise the new SILLY FLAG above the shop and CHEERS TO ONE YEAR OF SILLY! 👏

Kazoos will provided although are limited, but there will also be goodie bags, prizes and silly things waiting round unsuspecting corners! *ehem* @wherescookieman 👀

Bring your kids, your gran, your pals or on your own and find some like minded silly sausages! Just make sure you COME AAS YOU ARE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU’RE SILLY!!!

Who’s coming? TOOT TOOT 📯✨

🎉 Margate got a little silly today as SILLY celebrated its first birthday!

People gathered on Northdown Road for the very first Silly Sausage Stroll, walking from Low Life to SILLY in silly outfits and making plenty of noise along the way. 🎺😂

There were cookies, prizes and lots of fun!

The SILLY flag was raised above the shop to mark one whole year of trinkets, bits and things.

Happy Birthday, SILLY! 🎂💛
