👁️ Monkee Number 4 🐒
Goldilocks Sometime was such a cute number in 33 1/3 Revolutions Per Monkee and I wanted to encapsulate the playfulness of the music sequence for this coloring page I did for @themonkees . I really enjoyed adding all the little references and details to the toys on the shelf (notice how the Peter dog banana has a sticker where his belt would be…🧠).
And just like that……. I’m all done coloring my pages I illustrated for The Monkees 60th Anniversary Coloring Book! This was such a wild ride for me because I planned on getting these pages out on specific days of the week and was always trying to make sure to be on top of my schedule. It feels like a barrel of monkees has lifted off my shoulders, but I am proud of myself for being able to stick through this plan of consistently posting my pages. Thank you to all of you who has followed this journey with me,🙏💖 I’ll be making an announcement tomorrow, regarding the release of the coloring book😸

Naked Persimmon!! Here is my rendition of Mike’s music sequence in 33 1/3 Revolutions Per Monkee for @themonkees coloring book. I made this a while back as one of my projects in my portfolio class with @casey_nelson_stuff before graduating (thank you for the feedback always, Casey!!💖). A big challenge for this page was gathering quality reference material and photo-bashing all those pictures to create one big illustration, as a lot of the shots for this music sequence were zoomed in and didn’t show both of Mike’s full bodies. So happy to finally have drawn his Nudie suit!! One more Monkee to go……

Here’s the next page I made for @themonkees coloring book based off their TV special, 33 1/3 Revolutions Per Monkee! Peter’s vocals are absolutely wonderful in this song and I cannot recommend his rendition of (I Prithee) Do Not Ask For Love enough (everybody go watch it). I was very inspired by the set in this music sequence and the repetitive patterns found in South Asian art. Drawing those beads were…..quite the challenge (and don’t get me started on coloring them), but nonetheless, fun! Loved making this page for my favorite monkee😋💖

Here’s one of four coloring pages I made for @themonkees based off their TV special, 33 1/3 Revolutions Per Monkee. I loved each of their segments so much, especially Micky’s groovy rendition of I’m A Believer. Micky’s music segment was really colorful so I tried to emulate what I saw while watching. This tv special is such a trip and I can’t recommend it enough to the fans or anyone who loves the celebration of 60s culture and music!!
