POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

you know, someone special to me told me before, "x, sometimes if things don't go your way, you have to figure out how to push through. you may have people that want you to succeed, but ultimately YOU have to make the decision. nothing is given or guaranteed. you have to earn it." i thought about that a lot this summer.

i'm very thankful for this season. i learned so much in almost every aspect of life and i know it will benefit me in my future, even if i have no idea what that looks like yet. life changes too quickly to have a fixed future, live in the present. rely on consistency.

thank you troopers, for my third year in this amazing activity.

freshman year: semester 2

a lot more laid back semester (this one went by super fast too), worked early and had late classes again, had more time to do more things. but also since i was now contracted for troop, a lot more time was spent drumming so i could lock in for the summer. february camp was not my best showing of sightreading, march was alright, and may camp was a lot better. nearing the end of the semester, i spent most of my time working and drumming. after school was done, that's pretty much all i've been doing all day everyday. not complaining though, i'm excited for the summer and tour. oh yeah and i'm center for GB next year, kinda cool. gonna be a reeeeeaaalllly cool show this year for troop, so come out to a show ;) by @silva_x__

freshman year, semester 1

i remember the day after finals, i got home around noon and had to go to the GB auditions literally right after. i got home, dropped all my stuff off, said hi to my dog, left to the audition and didn't get home at 10pm. had to do it again for the rest of that week, left my house at 7:30am, didnt get back till 10pm. it also didnt help that i needed to do my freshman orientation AND move in all in the same week. probably the most stressful week of my life but i figured it out. then life was pretty good, got a job, worked mornings and went to class/rehearsal later in the day, football games on the weekends. oh yeah also got myself a car (ouch bank account) and an ipad with apple pencil (ouch bank account again) but they were both very much worth it. nearing the end of the semster, it was audition time again for dci. the first camp went pretty well, and so did the callback. i ended up getting contracted for troop again so that's pretty cool. semester 2 post coming soon 😸 by @silva_x__

Officially contracted, year 2...

Even though I've made a post showing me making the quad line, I've officially gotten that sweet sweet contract email. It's something else being able to march again with one of the most fan favorited corps, but it's also such an honor to finish out the trilogy of shows. Being impacted and inspired to audition by lassoing the sun, being able to travel to the other side to have a dance with the devil, and now having our final sunset. I'm more than excited to march this year and I am very excited to see what's in store music wise and drill wise. I am also very excited to march with quite a bit of my high school drumline friends and college drumline friends. I can already tell this is going to be one hell of a season. >"< @trooquads by @silva_x__
