Progressive Metal + Classical Chamber Music
POSTS STORIES REELS
I said it at the show: the fact that our music, written from the deepest place of isolation, can now be shared with a sold-out audience of such open, creatively minded people is one of the great privileges of my life. If there’s one goal behind Silver Chamber, it’s to use music to forge connection - to see that realised in the breathtaking hall of the Priory was unforgettable

Thank you, Lancaster, for being a part of this journey

A massive thanks to @lancastermusicfestival for backing us all the way and giving us this platform to share our passion for unifying progressive metal and classical music

📷 And in honour of some absolute god-tier photography, thank you to @nettlespie.photography for capturing the sheer scale, aura and presence of the evening

One hell of a night, hey!

Strings, piano, and harp invade modern metal! Animus - the debut single by Silver Chamber - out now! 🎧 Stream on Spotify or a service of your choice 🎸 Watch the full performance on YouTube 🔗 Link in bio 📷 Music video by @dumivisuals 📷 Live footage by @alex.does.media 🎚️ Mastered by @stevenjonesaudio 🎼 Composed, performed, and produced by Stephen J Brown Silver Chamber is a project made possible by @rncmlive “I’ve always admired how electronic artists create without inhibition, naturally letting music transcend genre. This mentality helped release classical music and metal from their perceived cages - opening them to discovery and experimentation. ‘The courage to create’ became my mantra when crafting ANIMUS, and has since become the principal value of Silver Chamber.” - Stephen . . . #progressivemetal #classicalmusic #symphonicmetal #manchestermusicscene #newmusic #genreblending #experimentalmusic #djent #uktechmetal #guitarplaythrough #alternativemetal #metalcore #line6helix #prsguitars #ltdguitars #ibanezguitars #nativeinstruments #intrumentalmetal by @silverchambermusic
Silver Chamber presents Deus Ex Machina as part of RNCM Lab Week   Silver Chamber brings together students from both our classical and popular music programmes. The project, led by postgraduate student @stephen_silverchamber, explores the relationship between metal and classical, and aims to connect with new audiences through the fusion of genres.    The group took over the RNCM Concert Hall for the week, working closely with our Programming and Technical teams in the lead up to their performance.   During rehearsals we chatted to Stephen alongside conductor and alumnus @edensaunders.music and violinist @grainnewhite_.   Stay tuned for more on this year’s Lab Week projects. by @silverchambermusic
Silver Chamber is fundamentally a path into the unknown, the abandonment of certainty, and the longing for connection through exposing the deepest parts of yourself that otherwise would not be seen

To walk that path alone would be impossible

Each musician in this group has their own voice, character, and expression through their instruments and they’ve brought these pieces to life in a way I never could have imagined It’s as much a joy to show them off as it is the music

Disclaimer: no Grade-I listed buildings were harmed in the making of this show The sub blasts may have smashed a few wine glasses though... An outstanding performance from @silverchambermusic shot for @lancastermusicfestival this year I was told to expect big things, but when the guys hit the first notes I was totally floored. The Priory shook in its foundations and the sound echoed through the aisles and arches by @silverchambermusic

A time of transition, off the back of an interesting summer A lot of creative progress behind the scenes, alongside some struggles with health and life’s bigger hurdles to navigate. I guess both ends of the spectrum account for growth which, at the end of the day, provides the subtext for Silver Chamber’s music - making it a diary of sorts I’ve always believed art is the best place to channel those emotions and experiences into, so I’m looking forward to sharing what’s come of that in the months ahead! by @silverchambermusic
