Recently, my partner asked me if I would make her a table top Chimenea. … So eventually I remembered to make her one. 😂 …Except I never make just one of something if I think it’s a great idea so I made five. One is hers and the rest are for sale. Every one that’s for sale comes with a little kit. The kit contains sand for the bottom, a little ceramic platform to put the incense on, a tiny set of metal tongs, and a little bundle of Palo Santo wood that I chopped myself after I received it in the mail. 😂 I will be selling the other ones at our next event and other events for the rest of this season if I have any more of these table top Chimineas.
.
I just listed these on my website for sale last night! So if you really love these and you would like one, check out my online shop! (Link in bio)
.
Our next sales event is going to be at Harker Heights in Texas. The event is called Food, Wine, and Brew Fest. It’s being hosted by the Harker Heights, Chamber Of Commerce. So if you would like to go to that event, go check out their website because you have to buy a ticket for the event. We hope to see you there!

Pricing is so hard sometimes!
Selling pottery feels very much like fishing or trying to get a toddler to eat. Fish and toddlers can be picky consumers so you present them with food that you think they’ll like and hope for the best!
Sometimes you get them to bite! Just like selling pottery. 😂

So my wife asked me for a tabletop chimenea, and because I can’t make just one of anything, I made five. 😂
One’s hers. One’s sold. A few of you asked about the rest, so: three left.
$80 each, starter kit included — sand, ceramic tray, tongs, and palo santo I chopped myself 😅
Link in bio, or come see them Saturday at the Harker Heights Food, Wine & Brew Fest. I can make more down the road, but these three are ready now.

POV: You’d rather be in the studio but the ornaments aren’t going to box themselves.
.
I love spending time in the studio, but I don’t always get to spend as much time out there as I want to! 😅

It’s that time of year again! Time to make all kinds of different kinds of pumpkins.… Because why not?! I really fought the feeling this year and thought I could get away with not making any at all. Before I knew it, my hands were closing in the top of my cylinder forms, and my wooden tools were making ridges of the sides of said closed pot. 🤣 I just couldn’t help myself!
Has this happened to you? I wonder if it’s something in my pumpkin spice that I’ve been putting in my coffee every day since the weather started dipping 2° under 100°F in Central Texas. 😂

I just realized this picture makes this look like a bell pepper and not a pumpkin! 🎃 😂
I made this the other day when I got tired of throwing mug bodies on the wheel and I had an extra 1 pound of clay. I think compared to last year‘s version I like this better! It makes me wonder what I could do with 3 pounds if I was trying to make a pumpkin. I really love seeing other people‘s videos of making the pottery pumpkins with the long, twisting vines coming off the top. That would be such an eye catching pumpkin to have at markets. Maybe I should go make one right now!!! 🤣

I started to enjoy making these little oil pouring bottles. At first, it was really annoying trying to collar in the top. But the more that I practiced at it the better I got. The main thing I noticed is that if I was able to not overwork the clay at the top, it was easier to make it narrow for the pouring spout. But times that I wasn’t deliberately trying to minimize over working the clay… If I became unfocused while throwing… I would get problems when trying to narrow the neck.
When I was in the army, they used to say “Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast“. That means that you always need to deliberately be going through the correct motions and processes to complete a task and that you shouldn’t get rushed or try to cut corners. Because when you short-circuit the correct steps, you can end up with a finished product or goal that is wrong or did not meet expectations. And the worst part about that (if you didn’t learn anything) is that you have to do it all over again. …. But if you didn’t finish it correctly the first time I guess you have to do it all over again anyway! 😝
