The week I get a new camera is the week I shoot my KTL on GoPro. For the time lapse effect, I scooted a spotlight down the street over the course of about 15 minutes. by @simmswright

@kick.the.ladder for 2025-10-06. #ktl11v - Exactly 1 cut/transition and make it a music video using at least 1 song. 1 week deadline and 60 second maximum runtime.

I’ve only just started going to the @thektlshow and it’s been so rewarding already! As much as I love poring over a project for months (@partyusamovie, check it) there’s something satisfying about being pushed to create something from whole cloth in a week.

This video was based on the song Home Sweet Home by @arkavello which has been an earworm to all of us.

Starring the lovely
@gearosehenry
@matthew_swift

And with help from @jamey.russell and @emmypietro who let me borrow gear, ran around with me in the rain, and encouraged me to make this even better than I had initially thought.

It had been many years since I had put on a Steadicam. Even with lots of practice I’m thankful for everyone letting me go for take after take. I used the last one. by @simmswright

Few months behind, but as I start my journey at the @americanfilminstitute, I thought it would be fun to post my @kick.the.ladder cinematography reel. Because I shot over 24 films, I was able to construct a 24sec reel. All these films were created in a week or less with rules set by a roll of the dice.

Incredibly fortunate to have worked with so much great talent this year! Credits can be found on respective posts on my feed or on the KickTheLadder website.

Been thinking a lot about this as I make my transition back into school. Use the fancy plates, wear out your favorite shirt, use that potion in Skyrim.

This film for @thektlshow is a modified version of what I filmed and submitted to (be accepted!) into AFI!
- The initial AFI rules: 1 minute, 10 shots, no sound, no dialogue, no transitions, no fancy color, prompt of “disappointment”
- @kick.the.ladder rules: exactly 3 words and must include at least 1 inanimate object as a main character. As always, no more than a minute long and no more than one week to submit
