Better late than never! Unfortunately, I haven’t been very active here since early last year when I got the opportunity to ride for the international team, Team Bike Aid.

I want to say a huge thank you for the opportunity—I’ve never regretted taking the chance to race for a team abroad. However, life isn’t always a bed of roses, and I didn’t have the season I had dreamed of.

I’m taking so many lessons with me, and even though my journey abroad with Team Bike Aid ends here for now, I’ll always remember this as an incredible experience.

When one door closes, another one opens. I’m looking forward to announcing my new team for 2026! 🚀

In the end, it’s just a brief moment on the podium—a photo, a smile, a few handshakes.

It looks so simple. But how do you make visible everything that it takes to get there?

Simon won the King of the Mountains classification at the Cholet Agglo Tour. Not a race victory, but a special classification. Yet, as so often, BIKE AID competes as a Continental team against World Tour giants—the teams that shine at the Tour de France in the summer. It’s David versus Goliath. It’s like a small local club taking on FC Bayern.

So the team has to find its own way to make an impact.

The race in Cholet covered 205 km. Torrential rain poured down all day, crashes were countless.

Our riders weren’t spared—Lasse crashed, Leo crashed.

But from kilometer zero, Simon was in the breakaway, keeping himself warm by fighting for every one of the 10 mountain sprints, scoring points in nine of them. After 150 km, he was caught by the peloton, exhausted, struggling to reach the finish while dodging the crashes on the final city laps in Cholet.

And in the end, that effort earned him a spot on the podium. Shivering in wet clothes, he stood there, creating the moment that mattered: BIKE AID making its mark, standing on the same podium, in front of the same crowd and photographers as the biggest teams.

But for this to happen, so many people have to put in the work. The support staff, working long hours, preparing bikes, driving for hours, standing in the feed zone in the pouring rain. And Simon’s teammates—pushing themselves just as hard, only to disappear quickly after the race, freezing, changing on the bus, without a moment of glory. You have to keep reminding yourself of all this.

Well done, Simon. Well done, team.

Do you know who’s making his BIKE AID debut tomorrow?

We’re beyond excited to welcome Simon Bak, a rising star from Denmark, to the BIKE AID family! Our team has shown incredible strength in 2024 — and Simon’s addition makes us even stronger.

We first connected with Simon in 2023 and quickly recognized his dedication and passion for the sport. Over time, we’ve come to know him as a determined and focused athlete from the far north, ready to take on new challenges.

"He already has solid experience at the Continental level and some impressive results. But what stands out most is his burning passion for cycling," says Matthias Schnapka.

Coming from Denmark, it takes enormous effort to compete in most UCI races held in France. Anyone who has taken this path has shown his readiness to invest fully in this sport. Simon raced from 2022 to 2024 with Danish Continental team Coloquick.

But let’s hear from Simon himself:
"I studied Mathematics and Social Science in high school in Denmark. I started cycling when I was 15 years old, first with MTB and Cyclo-Cross. In both disciplines, I competed in European and World Championships with the Danish national team.

I’m a really happy and dedicated person, and I love having fun both on and off the bike. I chose BIKE AID because of its professional setup and fantastic UCI race program. Everyone on the team has been so nice and friendly — I already feel like I’ve made a lot of new friends. Although I haven’t been racing on the road for long, my development curve has been truly impressive and is heading in the right direction. I’ve already achieved strong results, including a top 15 in the Tour of Denmark, 4th overall at Kreiz Breizh, and several top-10 finishes in UCI races.

Last year, I had a fantastic season with two wins, several podiums, and multiple top-10 finishes on Danish roads. Especially now that the World Championships are in Rwanda and BIKE AID focuses on African cycling, everything becomes even more exciting. I’m incredibly happy and positive about my teammates, the management, and the team’s setup."

We can’t wait for an amazing season with Simon Bak! Let’s show him the BIKE AID spirit!

Tour of Denmark ✔️

I’m really happy and proud of what I’ve achieved in the last few months. Hard work pays off! 🙌🏻

I couldn’t have done it better in Tour of Denmark. A strong team with even better teammates!
We got the Polka Dot jersey🔴⚪️ and a lot of top 10 results.
In GC I finished in the top 15! Also great to see and hear the many Danish spectators around! It means a lot.
Thanks a lot to everyone who helped us with this opportunity. A big thanks to @coloquickcycling 🟢⚫️
