Has this ever happened to anyone?? I would be truly amazed, because it feels like a very, VERY specific set of circumstances have to occur for this to happen!! 🤣

A catastrophe at a wedding! 🤣💍💍🤣

I can’t be the only person that this has happened to, right?? Stories of things going wrong are so much funnier than if everything goes to plan!…tell me your funny stories? 🤪😀🤪

My name is Simon Lasky and I am a composer. I have the privilege of being one of the many critical storytellers, shaping how audiences feel, react, and interpret the music that soundtracks our lives.

I have composed for symphony orchestras and string quartets, Big Bands and jazz ensembles. My music has been performed in London concert halls and New York jazz clubs, broadcast on BBC Radio and play-listed on NPR. I have released over 30 of my original jazz compositions as a recording artist.

I’m joining the Recording Academy's @songcompwing to #SupportTodaysComposers and celebrate the creativity and contributions composers bring to today’s musical landscape. Join me in supporting today’s composers.

A week today (September 21st) I am having surgery to remove some bone and reset the tendon on my right foot (my piano pedaling foot!🦶). It’s been causing me pain when I use the piano pedal, drive, walk etc for the last couple of years.

I’m not nervous about the surgery (it is under general anesthesia, but it’s a straightforward procedure 📈)…but I am nervous about the fact that rehab will take a month and, during that time, I won’t be able to do any gigs! That means no income for a month!! 😕😕😕

Let’s do this: I will be playing at @thebirchwood Hotel this Friday and Saturday 🎹🎼🎹 Come if you can? Let’s make it a good ‘send off’ so they have me back when I’ve recovered, right??! 😊 by @simon_lasky

Musicians; can you play your instrument AND talk at the same time? Furthermore, can you talk and play if it’s an up tempo song?? 💨🎹💨

It’s something I’ve got better at…but here’s a story (from earlier on in my career) when it didn’t go so well!! 🤣🤣🤣

Please don’t touch the pianist while he’s playing!! 😂😀😂 A charming story of not wanting to be kissed.…bless you Mary, I still think of you whenever I play this song!! 💋🎶💋
