Born in Fiorenzuola d’Arda (Piacenza) in 1948, Gianfranco Asveri fills his canvases with unusual figures, dreamlike animals and unexpected creatures. Through an instinctive, richly textured visual language that draws on Art Brut, the artist transforms reality into a visionary world where the fantastic meets the grotesque. Ilse Oelbers, a Dutch artist born in Utrecht in 1964, turned to sculpture after working in wooden boatbuilding and carving figureheads. The human figure lies at the heart of a practice that intertwines personal experiences with social concerns: identity, loneliness, belonging and relationships with others. In Unbearable Dream, a girl cradles a lifeless dove. The symbol of peace becomes an image of a broken promise in the hands of someone whose future has yet to unfold. The tenderness of her gesture expresses both care and helplessness, inviting reflection on what war takes from younger generations and their ability to imagine tomorrow. In Umberto Ciceri’s abstract works, shapes and colours come to life as the viewer moves. Through Hypertrait, a distinctive technique combining special lenses, the image changes with the viewpoint, revealing ever-changing geometries and colour harmonies. Giorgio Burnelli’s painting explores landscape through dreamlike and metaphysical imagery. Light spreads across the canvas, colours take on surreal hues, and forms soften, creating ethereal, quiet spaces. Nature becomes an expression of an inner sensibility, balancing observation and imagination. Familiar elements and elusive presences coexist in compositions that invite a lingering gaze, attentive to their nuances and sense of mystery. Hermann Albert (Ansbach, 1937) is a German painter whose figurative practice engages with classical and Renaissance art, shaped by his longstanding connection to Italy. Awarded the Villa Romana Prize in 1971, he participated in documenta 6 in Kassel in 1977. His paintings draw us into a world suspended in time: figures, objects and architecture inhabit carefully constructed spaces, where each presence contributes to the balance of the scene. Solid forms, understated gestures and enigmatic gazes invite us to pause as time seems to stand still. In A Glass Waltz, the preparatory drawings shown alongside the finished painting reveal how Nathan Walsh transforms observation into a personal vision. Working from sketches and photographs gathered during his travels, the artist builds the composition in pencil, reworking architecture, vanishing points and proportions to establish the relationship between the space and the figures who inhabit it. Colour, light and reflections bring this network of lines to life, weaving together human presence and transparency. A familiar yet reimagined reality emerges, inviting the viewer’s gaze to enter and move through it. In Igor Mitoraj’s sculptures, the harmony of classical forms meets the fragility of the fragment. Faces and bodies marked by fractures seem suspended in time, like memories resurfacing. Matter becomes living memory: what is absent takes on a presence, and the beauty of antiquity reveals an intimate, profoundly human dimension. In the artworks by Ricardo Robles-Musso, geometric shapes, clean lines, and a refined palette of blues, greens, and ochres bring an ethereal and reflective atmosphere to life. In Gianluca Patti’s monochrome works, color manifests in all its depth. Through the layering of acrylic and resin, the surface comes to life: color fluctuates, vibrates, and emerges, creating density and movement. Behind the apparent essentiality of the monochrome lies a complex stratification, where every chromatic variation becomes the trace of a lived experience, an emotion, a sedimented time.
