President Catherine Connolly has become Patron of Simon Communities of Ireland ๐Ÿ’›

We are honoured to welcome President Connolly as Patron and are grateful for her support of our work to end homelessness and ensure everyone has a safe and secure place to call home.

As homelessness continues to affect more than 17,000 people across Ireland, President Connolly's support recognises the importance of keeping homelessness firmly on the national agenda.

We look forward to working with President Connolly as we continue to advocate for a future where everyone has a place to call home ๐Ÿ˜๏ธ by @simoncommunity

That's a wrap on Simon Week 2026! ๐ŸŽฌ

This year, we brought the conversation about homelessness everywhere it needed to be; from conferences in Galway and Dublin, to meetings with Councillors, TDs, Senators and MEPs.

Most importantly, people with lived and living experience of homelessness were at the centre of every discussion. Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared your story ๐Ÿ’›

Your experiences continue to inform our advocacy and strengthen our call for solutions that can end homelessness for good.

As Simon Week drew to a close, the latest homelessness figures showed yet another increase in the number of people experiencing homelessness, the highest level ever recorded in Ireland ๐Ÿ“ˆ

The figures are a stark reminder of why these conversations matter and why we cannot afford to lose momentum.

Ending homelessness is possible, but it requires ambition.

We know the solutions, now we need sustained investment in resources that prevent homelessness before it happens and that provide the supports people need to secure a home.

A huge thank you to Cash & Carry Kitchens for supporting Simon Week 2026 and marking a third year of partnership with Simon Communities of Ireland. Your support helps us work towards a future where everyone has a safe place to call home ๐Ÿ

Simon Week may be over, but our commitment is not.

We will continue to push for practical and sustainable solutions that tackle homelessness head-on to create a future where everyone has a safe place to call home ๐Ÿ’›

This is the worst itโ€™s ever been.

The latest figures show that 17,885 people were living in emergency accommodation in August 2026.

60 single adults and 358 more people than last month are recognised in these figures. This dramatic increase is totally unacceptable ๐Ÿ“ˆ

With Budget 2027 just around the corner, we are pleading with Government to allocate budget for homeless prevention.

With this yearโ€™s Simon Week campaign, we are highlighting the reality that almost two-thirds of adults experiencing homelessness are facing it alone.

Simon Communities of Ireland are calling for a national commitment to ensure single adults are no longer overlooked in housing policy and homelessness responses, while raising vital funds to support people experiencing homelessness ๐Ÿ

Budget 2027 is an opportunity for Government to demonstrate that preventing homelessness is a national priority. We need investment in the services and supports that can intervene early, before even more people reach crisis point.

Today marks the start of Simon Week 2026

At the heart of this year's campaign is a simple but urgent message: Homeless & Alone, One Big Push ๐Ÿ’›

Simon Communities of Ireland are highlighting single adults experiencing homelessness, the largest group experiencing homelessness in Ireland.

They account for well over three in five adults in emergency accommodation.

But before homelessness, these people are parents, workers, neighbours, friends and family.

They're people like John.
They're people like Lily.

Across Ireland adults facing homelessness alone have been excluded. Let's fix it.

Visit simon.ie/simonweek to learn how you can make a difference.
