They say that a kiss is nothing but a kiss
That a sigh is but a sigh
They tell me I must remember this
Yet I find my memory so fleeting
As time goes by
I remember moonlight, effervescent sparkling Aphrodite’s blessing against your delicate skin
I remember love songs hummed in the silky sonnet of your serene voice
As I drift gently into Romeo’s stupored sleep
Sometime in the lost hours between twilight and dawn
I remember the whisper of soft lips sharing secrets, stealing kisses, breathing the lucid life of your love into my soul
I remember a nebula of tiny freckles, painted across your daringly beautiful face more masterfully a work of art than Pollock’s most inspired could muster
I remember the vengeful jealous filling my passionate heart with rage for those lovers in past and future lives
Dauntlessly sprinkling your face with memories of love other than our own
