About me. But make it pictorial.

•

I contain multitudes within me.
For years, that scared me.
I hated to admit how I wanted to be understood; palatable; everyone’s cup of tea.
The varied interests, air&fire&water personality, the willingness to move with my soul’s callings— these all made me feel… confusing.

Alas, time offers us a sweet gift.
Less f*cks.

The reality is, no amount of yoga, shape-shifting, ear-to-ear smiling will make us for everyone.
The sooner we allow ourselves to be misunderstood by many— the sooner we magnetize the souls who matter.

•

So. Here is a little about me. For the souls who matter ✨ by @simonekeelah

Amy was self-destructive as shit. AND, she was a FORCE of nature. A living contradiction (we’re still in the season of duality, what did you expect?).

Last week, while re-listening to “Back to Black, I was struck by how much she allowed herself to come apart in song— and realized that it was this very reason why so many of us loved her music.

At this point in human evolution, the robots can do it smarter and quicker than 99% of us mere mortals. While this is a point of both appreciation and frustration, I’m coming to terms with the increasing gold of leaning into all the weird and wonderful parts of being human; of how being raw and real is currency and freedom.

I yapped about my upbringing, creative journey, and the ups and downs of dream chasing. Sharing some snippets here but the full article is linked in my bio.

Some days really have me wondering WTF but lately it’s feeling more and more like I’m, indeed, on the right timeline. Yuh heard?! by @simonekeelah

I’m super excited about this one ✨

On Saturday, 2.22, I’m hosting a workshop for creatives and aspiring creatives all about manifesting your next creative breakthrough.

Along my journey— whether it was landing a dream job at Nike, getting published in R29, hosting 3 seasons of a podcast with top tier guests, or now calling in my next breakthrough in TV writing— I’ve learned that creativity isn’t just about talent. It’s about mindset, action, and alignment.

This session is designed to help you gain clarity and provide tools to take bold actions to level up your creative journey.

Interested? RSVP via the link in my bio. Can’t wait to see you there. by @simonekeelah

My creative friends 🗣️🗣️🗣️ I’m hosting a weekly accountability Zoom call TONIGHT and every Wednesday @ 6pm PT / 9pm ET for the next few weeks.

We use the first few minutes for intros/to share what we’re working on, and then everyone goes on mute (cameras on) and gets to work.

No more procrastination, just progress.

Everyone is welcomed ✨ by @simonekeelah

last month, your girl had a photoshoot in DTLA. like most things in life, it felt like it snuck up on me. but also like most things in life, I had a vision, found the right creative partners to help me execute that vision, and arrived much more prepared than I gave myself credit for being.

these shots were taken for the website— WHICH IS NOW LIVE (but pls believe you’ll see them everywhere for the next 2-3 years). one thing you’ll find on the site are coaching services for the person starting on their journey to breathe life into their creative dreams.

I’ve learned SO much while on this creative journey— from dos and donts, platforms, monetization, building a portfolio, launching a podcast, freelancing, etc etc. and one lesson that has rung loud and clear— as my shoot and many a lived experiences have confirmed— we can’t do this shit alone.

sometimes we just need someone in our corner telling us it’s possible. other times we need a plan, accountability, ideation sessions, and mindset support.

so yeah, holler at your girl if you wanna chat through what’s coming up for you and how I may support. and if not, enjoy this video of me being me. by @simonekeelah

🇵🇷 Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

I swear all my vacations sneak up on me. Hard to believe that this one was almost a year in the making (that’s what happens when you remain friends with 6 women who lead full lives).

Needless to say, it was exactly what our souls needed.

Didn’t get much writing done but the last slide is the art I found that reminded me that sometimes the focus really is about staying present, living life, and loving hard.

~more on that in today’s Substack~
