Las Vegas transplant, excited to explore a new city and make new friends! 🏳️‍🌈

We’ve added a new cactus feature along the front driveway! Blue torch cactus and artichoke agave with white marble chip stone. They’ll get white flowers and bright pink fruit too! A few hours of stone removal, soil sifting, and some help from a landscaping couple we met in town, and it’s all settled in. taken in Las Vegas, Nevada by @simonmay4

Since we don’t get icicles in Las Vegas, we decided to add some to the house! A former coworker taught me this method of zip-tying your lights to closet rods and hanging them from hooks hidden under your roofline. A lot of measuring and prep-work the first year, then setup in minutes for years to come! #christmaslights #merrychristmas #happyholidays #holigays by @simonmay4

Second major gardening project done! Moved the three Nandina bushes in front of the house into a little hedge under a window. We just have different plans for the front and didn’t love where they were, but wanted to keep them because they have pretty red berries in the fall and winter. Hopefully they’ll grow together and start to match in size over the next few years. 😁 by @simonmay4

We planted a Bismarck Palm in memory of our Princess Leia who passed this Spring. Her ashes were mixed into the new soil to help establish this beautiful blue/silver tree. We’ll be so happy to watch it grow over the years and remember her every time we see it! by @simonmay4

Our little Leia crossed the rainbow bridge this week. She went in for a routine teeth cleaning, and the universe decided that it was her time. She lived a happy life, and we’ve been happy to have her as part of ours. It’s been a tough couple of days, we both knew this day would come, but we didn’t know when. Our happy memories will keep her alive in our hearts, and we know she’s running around Johnny Appleseed Park as happy as she’s ever been. by @simonmay4
