Soundcheck for Lounge Apes gig in Tauranga! #drummerforhire #instagood #groove #goodvibes #music by @simonmcdowelldrums

This is one of the most important things I have done for my drumming. If anyone is having trouble with being able to make their playing groove they should try this! #groove #pocket #drums #instagood #drummerforhire by @simonmcdowelldrums

A lot of us have learnt new phrases before and loved them so much that we wanted to try and somehow fit them into the music that we play even though deep down we know it just doesn’t work.. This phrase is usually unfortunately one of those ones. By the time the timing for one of these come along we usually forget about it 🤣 #simonmcdowelldrums #gospelchops #drumfills #ınstagood #instadrummer #drummerforhire #drums #fun #goodvibes #dwdrums #meinlcymbals #vfaj2 by @simonmcdowelldrums

Playing to some @thedangelo . Just keeping it in the pocket. #instagood #pocket #drummerforhire #goodvibes #groove by @simonmcdowelldrums

Another favorite tune of mine from back when I was a lot younger. @therejects hope you’re still going strong! Also thanks to @1905whangarei and to the rest of @loungeapes boys! #instagood #drummerforhire #goodvibes #simonmcdowelldrums #music by @simonmcdowelldrums

Great night #90's, great location @1905whangarei great band @loungeapes. Amazing humans!!!!!!! @erik_again @nesp91 @mattgarratt by @simonmcdowelldrums

Had a fun weekend in Whangarei with the boys from @loungeapes . Despite this song being seemingly Synonymous amongst drummers being a song that Dave Grohl drummed on, (and it being a good song of course) I had never actually played this song with anyone before this tour so it’s been great to finally add it to the list of songs I had played! Thanks to Erik for having me on this tour and of course, Elliot and Matt! Also thanks to my beautiful wife, @domorefortheworld for tagging along in all my adventures and finding this vantage point to take this video. I love you my love 🥰🥰. #instagood #goodvibes #music #drummerforhire #groove by @simonmcdowelldrums

Some GoPro footage from the other night. I usually love having my snare drum tuned pretty high for that huge amount of attack like a big slap but when I play in a covers band that needs the whole spectrum and suddenly I need a lower, fatter sound I just chuck on a @bigfatsnaredrum head. Sounds awesome and I still get good attack!

I would walk 500 miles for you @domorefortheworld #instagood #drummerforhire #groove #goodvibes #bigfatsnaredrum by @simonmcdowelldrums
