Chapter 3 (of 4..) Patagonia😍 The end of the world-stunningly beautiful with wide unspoilt horizons. Finished our week at La Villa fishing lodge in the wide open Rio Grande prairie landscape with golden sunsets, condors, guanacos and a huge amount of other wildlife and wonderful people. After no activity throughout the last day, I landed a fresh run 15lb sea trout I will be lucky to better with my last cast of the week at 10.59pm (fishing ends at 11.00pm), a few minutes after Luke also had a beauty🪽
Then a short flight north to El Chalten and the amazing Andes for two day’s hiking, including the challenging Laguna de Los Tres trek to the base of Mt Fitzroy. Then onto El Calafate, where we took a boat trip to look at the impressive Upsala and Spegazzini glaciers-thankfully not in retreat.
Back to Buenos Aires tomorrow for a final dinner before flying home on Friday/Saturday taken in Patagonia, Argentina by @simonp65

Rio Grande-stunningly beautiful, great hosts and although not quite keeping up with Luke, have caught some memorable bright fresh run sea trout including these three beauties, the largest being 14lbs. Another day and a half🎣 to go..😁. by @simonp65

Chapter 2…Four days in Mendoza and the Uco Valley, exploring by foot, bike, tram and horse. More amazing wine and food, friendly and entertaining people, and the most beautiful lodge in the Uco Valley. We saw the New Year in there in the shadow of the Andes and with memories and thoughts of friends and family 🥰🪽
Now off to the south to see if we can 🎣.

Days1-3🇦🇷: Buenos Aires.
From a lovely Luke welcome at the airport on Boxing Day, it has all gone in a flash. A wonderful City of great variety and contrasts. The high rise central business district so different to the vibrant multi coloured La Boca district with Maradonna murals and the iconic Boca Juniors stadium-Luke in football heaven.. Steak in the buzzing and sophisticated Palermo district-but not all steak and malbec, with a clever and delicious Asian/Argi fusion at Nino Gordo. Also contrasting architecture, with beautiful churches, public buildings and 19th century european influenced villas on tree lined avenues sitting alongside eyesores from the 1950s onwards. A breathtaking tango show contrasting with a quiet engrossing stroll through the 19th century Recoleta Cemetery and the 4,800 sarcophagi of the wealthy and powerful looking to retain their status after death-including Evita’s. And temperatures around 38 degrees under blue skies prompting a rather overdue haircut! Now off for four days of 🍷in and around Mendoza😁 taken in Buenos Aires, Argentina by @simonp65
