More used to getting dogs in the store. 🤔 Somehow this guy found his way onto the middle of Ayr High Street this morning. No CLUE how!!! Lucky, Nieve and Ada helped me release him after I finished work. 😁

We lost my Dad a couple of weeks ago. Now, my family are a pretty tight unit and Pops was definitely a huge part of the glue. I'm not gonna sit here and try to sum the guy up in an Insta post but I can't stop thinking about how he handled it all in the end. My Dad was always very active, very able and more than a little stubborn. Back in October he was still golfing. By the end he couldn't care for himself at all - he relied on us and on the utterly amazing carers that came in three times a day towards the end to help. That would rob most of us of our dignity but not him. He maintained a gratitude and grace that I don't think I'll ever stop thinking about. And in the end he passed peacefully surrounded by his wife of 59 years, three kids, five grandkids and more family. I'm not gonna kid myself but I haven't even really started to process this shit. I'm gonna miss him. But we all go - not all of us get to go out like that. 🤗

P.S. My Dad's name was Michael. On one occasion one of his students gave him a mug explaining that his name comes from a Greek root meaning "One who is Godlike"... You have no clue what he was like to live with for the next few weeks! by @simonpratchett
