There’s something different about pointing a camera when it’s not just a photo. It lingers a little longer. There’s no single decisive moment to hide behind; just presence, movement, and whatever unfolds in between.

What I always find most interesting when filming those is how each person reacts. Some hold the gaze, others look away, some shift, smile, or don’t quite know what to do with the moment. And that’s exactly what makes it feel honest.

Going up to someone to ask if you can film them for a few seconds can be a challenge. It pushes you out of your comfort zone more than you expect. It feels less like capturing an image, but more like sharing a small, unspoken exchange. Spending those few extra seconds with each person always creates a different kind of connection, as at some point, the camera seems to disappear, and what is left is real.

These are some of those moments.

So long,
Sy

A few weeks ago, I was in Uruguay shooting for work, and these ended up being some of my favorite moments.

They weren’t part of the original brief, but I felt compelled to capture them anyway. On every shoot, I’d ask the models to run or dance, something simple that would make them smile, laugh, and feel completely carefree. Spending long days on set isn’t always easy, especially when things don’t go perfectly, so creating that sense of ease felt important.

These moments shifted the energy instantly. They brought a lightness to the set and helped build a natural connection between the models, the camera, and me. At a certain point, it no longer felt like they were performing, they were just being themselves. That’s what made the final content feel so authentic… and this is how it turned out.

I hope you enjoy as much as I did filming :)

So long,
Sy
