🕊️ Jean François Miguel.
He was more than just a teacher. He opened doors for me that changed the course of my life.
The path I’ve walked ever since began in no small part because of his belief in me back when I was just a kid with big dreams.
His “TAM TAM” Festival allowed me and many others to witness some of our drumming heroes playing up close. It was insane. Especially for a little French country boy like me.
One day, after a lesson - I was 13 or 14 - I took up the courage to tell him “hey, I’d love to play your festival one day”.
Lo and behold, he told me on the spot “well why don’t you play this year?” I believe the festival was only a month or so away … he then pulled out a cassette tape, and said : “if you can play this by then, you can open the festival”. It was Toto’s Dave’s gone skiing. I don’t think I’ve ever worked harder on learning a song. I then played it for him, and he was like “ok, you’re in”. He didn’t have to let me play, but he did. He was that kind of person. Then came the night of the festival, where I performed the song in front of a crowd of fellow drummers, and none other than Thomas Lang, who’s DVD I had watched about a trillion times, and had posters of him plastered all over my bedroom. JF took the time to introduce us, and asked him to watch me play (which he kindly did, and cheered whilst I was playing and he was just an absolute gem of a human being). It meant the world to me.
I could go on and on about everything Jean François did for me, and I am so grateful for it all.
Muriel, Marine, je vous envoie toutes mes sincères condoléances et pense à vous durant cette période très difficile.
Jean François, I hope I made you proud.
Et comme tu disais : “fait fumer” là haut.

This Friday, it’s Toto’s “Dave’s Gone Skiing”

A track that changed my life, but that’s a story for another time :)

Honestly, I’m not 100% satisfied with it, so I will most likely re-do it sometime soon.

I hope you enjoy regardless :) taken in Los Angeles, California by @simontellier

So honored and happy to have taken home the award for “Pop Track of the Year” at this year’s Mark Awards.
Huge thanks to everyone @thepmamusic and @westonemusicgroup, and of course to the super talented @rolandbingaman for writing the song with me and singing on it!

Another late post. Coachella Weekend 2! 🥁
Great to perform with @labrinth , and with guests @zendaya , @siamusic and @maddieziegler .

I had such a good time. And again, couldn’t have had such an amazing experience without the whole team on and off stage. All legends.

Also special thanks to @meinlcymbals, @mapexdrums and @protectionracket for their continuous support.

Much love ♥️ by @simontellier

Late post. But Coachella weekend 1 with genius @labrinth was a lot of fun. One of the highlights was having @billieeilish join us on stage for “Never felt so alone”.
So much work went into this show, and I can’t thank @jonasjalhay enough to trust me and having brought me on. Total dream to make music with these artists, bandmates (brass and choir!) and the whole entire crew who made this all possible whilst making it look easy. Much love xxx by @simontellier

Madison Square Garden, Hollywood Bowl, Paul Oakenfold’s house party, Roger’s Arena aaand the beautiful Les Paul I got to play every night (behind a screen🙃).
The Unity Tour, with @petshopboys alongside @neworderofficial was a blast. It took us all over the US and Canada.
Can’t wait for this summer for more shows in Europe!
Buuuut before that, I’m gonna be a part of something that I’m really excited about. I’ll post about it (probably. Maybe. We’ll see)
Love you all x by @simontellier

Better late than never eh? …

Earlier this year, I got to spend 3 and 1/2 months in Europe, rehearsing and touring with the legendary @petshopboys . We performed in arenas and festivals, and one of the highlights was to headline the Other Stage at @glastofest .

I had a fantastic time. Much much love to the boys, the entire crew who always work so hard to make each show happen, every person who came to see a show (thank you so much to everyone who sent me very kind messages), @bobbyfame without who I wouldn’t be a part, and my two lovely bandmates @affygreen @clareuchima

We’re currently in the US, performing alongside @neworderofficial as part of the Unity Tour. I’ll post about it probably in about 12 years time lol
