“WHAT IS THIS THING YOU’RE LOOKING FOR WHEN YOU SCROLL?”

This question hit me harder than I expected when I first came across it — and it’s the reason I made this video.

I’m not against social media, and I’m not here to blame anyone — I’m part of the problem too.
I’m just trying to understand what this thing is doing to us, and why it’s so powerful.

I wanted to write a little poetic text that makes us pause for a moment—not to judge ourselves, but simply to notice the paradox in what we do.

Voice Over by Marcus Anderson
Music by Vangelis - La petite fille de la mer
Written, illustrated (with images I generated with AI) edited and color graded by @simontherocks 🐈‍⬛
Third image (amazing) by Paul Trillo

If you want to dig deeper, here are a few ideas worth exploring:

– How platforms are designed to hijack our focus
– The psychology behind infinite scroll
– The difference between “connection” and actual connection
– How attention became a commodity, and why we’re the product
– The way algorithms learn our desires faster than we do
– How constant stimulation reshapes our brain’s reward system
– The link between distraction and anxiety
– Why digital “connection” can deepen real-life loneliness

Let’s talk about it — drop your thoughts below ♡

And seriously, in four words… let’s not be dumb !
