Our next artist spotlight for our 11/21 Scorpio show at Cherry is Simpa!

Simpa has been behind the decks since 1993, starting his journey in the underground scene of Salt Lake City, Utah. House music was his first passion, shaped by early influences like Mark E Quark, Myxlplix, and the Wicked Crew SF. Over the years, his musical exploration brought him to Drum and Bass, which has remained his primary musical focus since the early 2000s.
Relocating to San Francisco in 2000, and later to Santa Cruz, Portland, and Seattle, Simpa's sound evolved alongside his travels. After taking a break to raise a family, he returned to the scene with renewed energy, earning a prominent place within Seattle’s DnB community. He quickly became a fixture at the longest-running DnB weekly in the U.S., and has shared the stage with heavyweights like Calibre, Spectrasoul, Bachelors of Science, Ben Soundscape, Quadrant, Iris, Kid Hops, Homemade Weapons, and Dara.
During the COVID era, Simpa rediscovered his roots in House music, and has since been lighting up Seattle’s dancefloors with his dynamic sets, blending the best of both worlds. Whether it’s the driving rhythms of DnB or the soulful grooves of House, Simpa’s sets promise a journey of sound that reflects decades of experience and passion.
