In the algorithmic process of AI image generation, one of the key steps is the addition of Gaussian noise, which guides AI in its exploration of latent space. The way AI “wanders” through latent space has always fascinated us, opening up many reflections on images, creation, and imagination.However, latent space is highly dimensional and abstract, far beyond the scale of everyday human perception. For this reason, visualizing such an abstract yet fascinating process, while making it accessible to viewers and maintaining theoretical accuracy as much as possible, is truly not easy.During the preparation of this exhibition, we had many discussions with the curator @sharleen_yu . We are deeply grateful to her for patiently working through this concept with us, and for proposing the idea of presenting it through silkscreen printing, transforming this abstract computational process into a beautiful and tangible visual element within the exhibition space.We would also like to give special thanks to @louise_fun0924 , the designer who has supported us on many design projects over the years. Translating high-dimensional latent space into a visual explanation on the wall is truly difficult, and she handled it with great professionalism. Thank you again!-AI影像生成的演算過程中，其中一個關鍵步驟為加入高斯雜訊，引導AI在潛空間（Latent Space）中進行探索。AI 在潛空間中「漫遊」的方式，一直是我們覺得非常迷人的地方，也開啟了許多關於影像、創造與想像的思考。然而，潛空間是如此高維、抽象，遠遠超出人類日常感知的尺度。也因此，如何將這個既抽象又迷人的過程視覺化，並且讓觀者容易理解，同時又盡可能兼顧理論上的準確性，真的不是一件容易的事。在準備這次展覽的過程中，我們與策展人 @sharleen_yu 討論了許多次。也非常感謝思穎耐心地與我們一起梳理這個概念，並提出以絹印方式呈現的想法，讓這個抽象的演算過程轉化成美麗而具體的展場視覺。也特別感謝一直以來協助我們許多設計工作的設計師 @louise_fun0924 芳芳能將高維度的潛空間「降維」成牆面上的視覺化說明，真的不容易，也真的很專業！再次感謝！ by @simplenoodle.art

Latent Physionotrace2025Mechanical installations, machine-generated drawings, algorithms, generative animation and mixed mediaIn the late 18th century, the physionotrace was a device using silhouettes and a pantograph that tried to break free from the subjective interpretations of artists and achieve absolutely objective drawings.Latent Physionotrace is composed of an Al image generation algorithm, a Galton board, and a modified physionotrace. First, it uses the randomness of the physical collision of a Galton board as a substitute for computer-generated noise. Next, it instructs Al to search for silhouette portraits within a virtual space. Then, a mechanical arm manipulates the physionotrace, making the originally blurry digital images on the screen become clear. Gradually, they are drawn on a physical paper. 🖥️Inter net⌨️By chance, we discovered that Google had preserved over 100,000 search records accumulated across more than a decade.Questions about adolescence, sex, politics, education, technology, and everyday life had all, almost unnoticed, been transformed into calm, seemingly objective raw data. 我們回台灣了！從潔白的大理石、在棉布上反覆蓋印形成的錯位圖紋，到多到記不起名字的香料，以及永遠在運轉的街道，印度是一趟感官全開、節奏很不一樣的旅程。-這次作品展出於位在德里的當代藝術機構 Khoj，一個長期關注實驗性與跨領域創作的地方，謝謝Khoj 的邀請，也謝謝團隊對作品的細心理解。同時也非常感謝駐印度代表處文化組品樺，從大事到小事的各種支援，讓原本心裡懸著的石頭放下💖-印度是 IT 大國，手機幾乎是身體的延伸，《探索與剝削》在這裡展出，我們特別好奇：他們如何看待演算法？又怎麼想像「虛擬伴侶」這件事？-We’re back in Taiwan!From pristine white marble, misaligned patterns created by repeated layers of printing on cotton fabric, to an overwhelming array of spices and endlessly buzzing streets, India was a journey that fully awakened the senses.This exhibition took place at Khoj, a contemporary art institution in Delhi that has long been committed to experimental and cross-disciplinary practices. We’re deeply grateful for the invitation, as well as for the team’s thoughtful and attentive approach to our work.Our sincere thanks also go to Pin-Hua from the Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in India for all the support, big and small, that helped ease our worries along the way.-India is a global IT powerhouse, where smartphones feel almost like an extension of the body. 去年，我們很榮幸在馬德里參與了一檔聯展。趁著空檔，我們一如往常地跑去當地的天文館看看。馬德里天文館不大，依然是經典的圓頂造型。但當我們走進地下室展間時，看到的卻不是熟悉的星體科普展示，而是一檔與馬德里 UCM 美術學院、當代藝術館合作的展覽：關注人類與月球之間的關係。那一刻真的非常興奮，在一個以科學為核心的場域裡，看見科學與藝術自然地並置與對話。當時心裡忍不住吶喊，我們在想的就是這個～～～而現在，在台北天文館的「光的間質」展覽中，天文館也做出了相似的嘗試，展出一檔結合天文概念、物理光學與藝術詮釋的特展。我們在天文館某個角落架設了一台相機，對準圓頂屋頂（也就是天文館的宇宙劇場），即時擷取屋頂的光線，並將其轉化為 RGB 數據，呈現那些肉眼難以察覺、卻持續發生的光線變化。＿展覽名稱｜光的間質－臺北天文館 2026 跨年藝術特展 In the Interstice of Light展覽時間｜2025/12/18–2026/03/01展覽地點｜臺北天文館 1 樓特展室 @tam.igsky 展覽藝術家｜吳季璁、臺北天文館、陽春麵研究舍主辦單位｜臺北市立天文科學教育館策展團隊｜櫻花樹創意有限公司 @labcherrywood 視覺設計｜賴怡學—也再次感謝 @clab.creators 計畫，讓我們從去年開始與天文館展開交流。-#光的間質 #台北天文館 #simplenoodleart #科學與藝術 by @simplenoodle.art

But the sun is not ours, we are going to sleep.”— Cao Yu, SunriseThe rising and setting of the sun have long defined human concepts of time and calendars. Even the human pineal gland, which regulates our sense of time, is synchronized by exposure to sunlight. The phrase “rise at sunrise, rest at sunset,” which once symbolized the stable rhythms of agrarian life, no longer fits the digital era. Our daily routines have drastically changed. For many, sunrise now marks the moment when we surrender our time to work. Only after work do we reclaim time for ourselves, yet by then the sun has already begun to set—just like Chen Bailu, the protagonist of Sunrise, realizing that the sun was never truly hers.After work, people’s vision is occupied by “screens” until just before sleep. The glow of the screen has become a new kind of sun, gradually interfering with the pineal gland’s regulation of day and night, and blurring our perception of time. Trance carries a dual meaning. It refers both to a state of focused immersion in the virtual world and to those moments of distraction or detachment that interrupt an immersive experience. As technologies such as virtual reality, AI, and projection continue to evolve, they expand the boundaries of how we perceive and experience virtual worlds.Yet this sense of immersion can also be disrupted. Heat, physical discomfort, fatigue, or the steep learning curve of unfamiliar technologies may cause us to “break trance,” pulling us back into the physical world.These moments of breaking trance are not merely technical limitations; they are cracks through which we can rethink the relationship between immersion and technology. After all, a painting, a book, or a melody can evoke profound immersion without any technological mediation.At the same time, we might ask whether contemporary society is already surrounded by another form of immersion. Through short-form videos, games, and social media, the virtual has quietly permeated everyday life.-「出神」具有雙重涵義：既象徵沉浸於虛擬世界的專注狀態，也指涉在沉浸體驗中分心、抽離的片刻。隨著科技發展，虛擬實境、AI、投影等技術拓展了人類對虛擬世界的感知邊界。然而，這樣的「沉浸」有時也會因為悶熱、痠痛、學習曲線高等身體不適感，而使人「出神」，把人拉回現實中。這種「出神」的瞬間，不只是技術上的侷限，更像是一道裂縫，讓我們重新思考沉浸感與科技的關係——一幅畫、一本書、一段旋律，沒有科技的賦能，亦能讓人感到沉浸。另一方面，在當代的科技社會中，我們是否已經被某種形式的沉浸包圍？在短影音、遊戲與社群的之中，虛擬早已悄悄滲透日常。Trance is a three-channel AI interactive film that traces the artist’s creative process and lived experiences.
