MODERN FIGURE (@modernfigure_):

Modern Figure is a life-soaked new wave band with a melancholic heart. Their sound is driven by propulsive drums, a chorus-drenched melodic bass, analogue synths and droning guitars. Combining sounds of new romanticism with post-punk urgency, they create an intense atmosphere where vulnerability finds its pulse.

NAKŬDE (@nakude_band):

Nakŭde (‘where to?’ in Bulgarian) is a young and fresh Alternative Rock band that is not shy to show off its punk politics. Bassist Arch1e, Drummer Duncan and Guitar-/Vocalist Jelle Rik bring about their vision of the many juvenile crises of the 2020’s through up beat rhythms and sharp vocal lines. The Anarcho Absurdist attitude fuses and melts into one with the surreal songwriting.

The question with an answer is not the eternal question. And so we ask you: Where to?

SCHIZM (@schizm_herrie):

A relentless wall of noise, fired straight into your soul with an overwhelming amount of passion. That’s SCHIZM. SCHIZM hits you hard, fast and straight in the gut, leaving you exhausted but satisfied. Their debut album, “Human Suffering”, is faster than light. With tracks averaging no more than 1,5 mi nutes, there’s no time to waste. Come running.

For fans of: Hard Lessons, Maulkorb, Gorilla Biscuit, and Traumatizer.

GARDEN WALK (@gardenwalk.band):

You walk barefoot through the damp grass, soaking up the last rays of summer sun on your skin, while the air already carries a cold, crisp edge. The emotions wash over you, raw, real, dreamy and, at times, unexpectedly fast, violent. Garden Walk takes you on a stroll through their very own garden. Will you come and take a look?

HET VOORWOORD (@hetvoorwoordband):

Het Voorwoord is a project from Groningen that formed during a brainstorming session among four friends at an Irish pub. The band just got started and is ready to share their passion for music with Groningen. Get ready to be surprised by a mix of indie rock, Dutch pop, and sometimes a touch of punk. And don’t expect a fixed lead singer or guitarist: almost every member can play multiple instruments. Curious about the raw outbursts and subdued moments of Het Voorwoord? Visit Simplon UP!

MUGGY (@muggyband):

Muggy is a group of students from Hengelo who get everyone out of their seats, straight into the moshpit. With Nirvana’s debut album as their main inspiration for their own songs, Muggy focuses on the grunge/punk scene in the Netherlands. They don’t mince words and say exactly what they think. Whether it’s loss, love, or beer, you can always find a piece of yourself in Muggy. Let the raw emotion and explosive energy transport you back to the early ’90s!

Maresa is an emerging artist from Groningen. With her dreamy indie-bedroompop, it feels like you are having conversations with someone late at night, sharing things that are usually left unsaid. Writing about friendship, love, heartbreak, and the quiet chaos of growing up, she invites listeners into a world that feels both deeply personal and comfortingly familiar.

“Born to be a lovergirl, forced to write heartbreak songs.”

BRECHTJE (@brechtjestudio):

BRECHTJE is a singer, producer, and interdisciplinary creator from Groningen. She creates music in which grief, longing, fear, and hope are allowed to coexist, without judgment. Her music falls within electronic indie with hints of trance, and is sometimes somewhat acoustic.

For BRECHTJE, there is a clear connection between sound and image. A sound can say just as much as a melody, and a color can feel like a chord. You hear this way of perceiving the world reflected in her music and also see it in her work as a live painter at Madame & Madame.

Her performances feel dreamy and pulsating. Live, BRECHTJE invites her audience to step into that world. A place that is detached from everyday reality, where nothing needs to be numbed and every emotion is welcome, so that it ultimately feels relieving.

ONE STRAW REVOLUTION (@onestrawrevolution_music):

One Straw Revolution writes original music that sounds like a fusion of the Fab Four and the heroes of Laurel Canyon. Beatlesque vocal harmonies are paired with country-inspired guitar work and an energetic rhythm section, creating a tension between nostalgia and contemporary urgency, with lyrics and musical interplay at the heart of it all.

The band takes its name from Japanese thinker Masanobu Fukuoka, whose philosophy centred on allowing things to follow their natural course. That same idea can be heard in the music, where authenticity takes precedence over perfection.

SKIN PRISONER (@skinprisoner):

Wielding only a classical guitar, skin prisoner keeps you on your toes with dreamy, raw and fragile songs hidden in plain sight. His sophomore album “heavy, like fire” offers a diverse selection of songs with a clear emotional throughline. His music is best enjoyed live and in person, where the music often evolves or turns into something new entirely. Some call it indie folk.

QUIET BLOOM (@quietbloom_band):
Hailing from Groningen, with a victory under their belt and their sights set firmly on the future, Quiet Bloom is an explosive new force that recently won Kunstbende Groningen 2026. This young band combines the raw, driving energy of Wunderhorse and Fontaines D.C. with the soaring, emotional vocals of Florence + The Machine. Their music is an unfiltered emotional rollercoaster, with energy bursting from every chord and feelings coming through in their most intense and honest form. Quiet Bloom doesn’t simply perform; they set the stage alight with a powerful combination of vulnerability and passion. With a sound that is already making waves in the local music scene, Quiet Bloom proves that sometimes the strongest statements grow from the quietest beginnings, only to bloom into something spectacular.

FLORIS KEGEL (@floriskegelmusic):
Floris Kegel is an indie-rock/dream-pop singer-songwriter from haarlem. he started releasing music under his full name in 2022, starting with singles, the album “raw” (2023) and the EP “songs about the rain” (2024). His new album “John put his dog down” (2025) is a conceptual work that tells the story of John, featuring multiple fleshed out characters. The story is about loneliness, isolation and the generational cycles of trauma. The character “John,” has been method acted by Floris for 6 months. he knows what John thinks, wears and would do in certain situations, he plays shows being this character and bringing emotion through John’s pain. Floris Kegel combines lofi, soft, droning instrumentals with breakable vocals in some songs. In others he’s screaming loud indie-grunge tracks, throwing his guitar around and staring intensely at people in the crowd.

IGREC (@iiiigrec):

Igrec is the musical alter ego of Demy Mertens, a hip-hop artist from Groningen with a fresh sound and an open, honest writing style. His music revolves around real stories, raw emotions, and making a positive impact, with the aim of inspiring others.

What started as a personal outlet grew into a passion, but sharing his music remained a big step for a long time. Only after years of growth, trial and error, did Igrec feel ready to truly make his voice heard.

Now the time has come. With sincere lyrics and a fresh approach to hip-hop, he is stepping into the music world with confidence. Igrec doesn’t just want to be heard, he wants to leave something behind: a feeling, a thought, a spark of inspiration that encourages others to create or helps them navigate their own emotions.

‘T ZELFDE BLOED (@zelfdebloed):

‘T Zelfde Bloed is a hip-hop group consisting of four guys from Groningen. Officially, they are a group, but in practice they function more like a collective: not everyone appears on every track, but all of their music is released under the name ‘T Zelfde Bloed.

Their music reflects today’s multicultural society and shows that your background or appearance doesn’t matter. In the end, we all share ‘T Zelfde Bloed: the same blood.

Alongside the acts, DJ Jasz will be hitting the decks at the Simplon Café during the evening.
