My Mom’s dementia is truly one of the most mind-boggling diseases I’ve ever witnessed. It’s hard to wrap your mind around the fact that someone’s brain can literally forget how to walk. Their mind, their body, everything changes before your eyes.

Seeing my dancing machine in a wheelchair definitely wasn’t on my bingo card! You don’t realize how many simple things suddenly become obstacles until you’re living it. Now it’s finding a new nail salon because there are steps, our walks on the beach are now on the broadway, having to switch up our favorite restaurants and just realizing how much the everyday logistics change 🤯
Doing my best to accept this new chapter, but baby… it’s been tough.

I share all this to say, if this journey has taught me anything, its :
Book the damn trip!
Take ALL the photos.
Tell the people you love that you LOVE them.
Take the time OFF!
Bet on YOURSELF.
Stop waiting for “ONE DAY” by @simplydesh
