Dessert run at Niu Soft Serve 🍦✨

If you’re looking for a great late-night dessert spot in Honolulu, this place is definitely worth the stop. The flavors are unique, rich, and not overly sweet — perfect balance.

My personal favorite: the Hot Kulolo Sundae 🤎
Warm, chewy kulolo with creamy soft serve and crunchy toppings = SO good together. Every bite hits.

Also tried the warm miso caramel cookie sundae and ube kulolo sundae, and honestly you can’t go wrong with any of them.

📍So Gong Dong Restaurant, Honolulu, HI

They have at least 10 Soondubu selections! My friends and I got the Soondubu combo that comes with an entree as well as banchans (small side dishes) for under $23. We also got extra entrees on the side: Marinated short rib & chopchae. Portions were pretty good for 3 people to share!

They’re located close to pagoda hotel, street parking or in the back of the building structure.

📍Mahi’ai Table, Kapolei

My friends and I had brunch at this restaurant inside Foodland Farms in Kapolei. We were very pleased and satisfied with our selections! We ordered: Braised Shortrib Loco Moco, Furikake Salmon Cobb Salad, Spicy Garlic Noodles, & Manila Clams. Our favorite was the Manila Clams, the clams and the soup was really great. Plus, the Manila clams came with fries! Other dishes were super good and tasty. We also got a cocktail drink (not showed): Pineapple Calamansi Sour with Lihing mui rim. I would definitely get it with lihing mui to balance out the sourness of the drink.

We made a reservation and got seated quickly. The Service was awesome and our server was very friendly.

📍Deck Waikiki

Another brunch spot with a great view (swipe to the left) of Diamond Head. I could not get enough of their Deep Dish Haupia French Toast! Haupia is a coconut milk based found in many Hawaiian dessert. They also have $50 bottle mimosa + 3 choice of juices.

I highly suggest making a reservation ahead of time, they do get pretty busy.

📍Moke’s Bread & Breakfast - Kaimuki

Perfect brunch spot! Its a small restaurant, so they do fill up the place pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend going right when they open.

They’re known for their Lilikoi pancakes that comes with their special lilikoi sauce. Lilikoi is also known as passion fruit, the lilikoi sauce has a creamy sweet/tarty passion fruit and is very aromatic. We also got their fried rice, so yummy! I just got the regular loco, however, they do have a ribeye (7 oz) loco moco (must try next time!)

They also have a Secret Menu: Big Kat (Loco Moke w/ fried rice, corned beef hash, & Portuguese sausage).

📍Onoya Ramen

One of my favorite ramen spots! I would definitely recommend their tonkotsu tantan men (you may also get it spicy), and it is one of their popular signature. A couple of my favorite appetizers are the fried onoya gyoza, spicy tuna crispy rice, and assorted charsiu along with their chicken karaage.

📍Jejubing Dessert, Ala Moana

Here’s another bingsu dessert place! They carry all kinds of flavors, but the mango is one of my fave, very fruity and refreshing 🥭💛

All bingsu comes with condensed milk to pour over it!!

📍Heavenly Island Lifestyle

Looking for another brunch/dinner spot in Waikiki? Heavenly Island Lifestyle is da spot! They open at 7 am and there was already a line outside! BUT they go through the line pretty quick. We got there around 8ish and waited less than 15 mins I would say.

The food is amazing! All ingredients are locally grown. Their healthy smoothies are definitely a must try! I tried their energy smoothie and it was so refreshing. Though, I was not a fan of the blueberry compote & acai… the acai syrup/jam was a bit too much… I would suggest getting the mixed berries if you’re craving for some French toast!

📍Tea Spoon

Have you ever heard about Bingsu? Bingsu is a traditional Korean dessert. It is made from fine flavors shaved ice. Flavors such as milk, chocolate or even yogurt. You can top it with all kinds of ingredients, but the most popular ones are fresh fruits, red bean, ingeolmi, and condensed milk and or fruits syrup to put over the Bingsu.

📍Laverne’s

I am not really a fan of capers but this mahi with garlic butter and caper sauce is definitely a must try. I am so glad they don’t put too much capers. I recommend eating it right away and not let it sit out. You can’t leave mahi out (room temperature ) too long before it spoils. Though, the portion is a pretty good amount for the price. Mac salad is a pretty standard Mac salad. You could never go wrong with Mac salad in Hawaii.

📍Top Tea + Espresso

Ube Black Milk Tea: only comes in large size. This drink includes real ube wall. If you really want to taste the ube, make sure you shake it before drinking it. The ‘soda can’ is 0.99 upgrade. For me, the ube wall was a bit too much I’d ask for less ube wall… but overall the drink was great.
