Content Strategy for Local Businesses. Helping you post with intention, not just post. Mom. Business doctoral student.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I didn’t add anything new to my life this year.

I took things away.
Habits that kept me tired.
Things that ate my time and gave nothing back.
And yes, some people.
That last one was the hardest.

I didn’t do it to be cold.
I did it because I have one goal: give my daughter the life she deserves. Anything that pulled me away from that had to go.

And here’s what surprised me.
I didn’t get less done.
I got more done.
Because I stopped spending energy on things that were never going to help.

I see business owners do the opposite all the time.
When things feel slow, they add more.
Another platform.
Another trend.
Another thing to post.
But sometimes growth isn’t about adding.
It’s about clearing space so the right things can actually work.

To all the single moms building a business while balancing everything else on your plate…

✨Keep going.✨

They may never know everything it took to build the life you’re creating.

And that’s kind of the point. šŸ¤ by @simplysandramartinez

A content strategy is not a content calendar.
Here’s the difference.

A calendar tells you when to post.
A strategy tells you why you’re posting it in the first place.

You can have a perfectly scheduled calendar,
three posts a week, every week,
and still have no strategy behind it.
(Ask me how I know.)

This is one of the most common mixups I see when small business owners try to build an instagram strategy for small business:
they build the schedule first and skip the actual plan.

A real strategy starts with one question

What do you actually want this account to do?

āž”ļø Build trust?
āž”ļø Bring in leads?
āž”ļø Just get people to know you exist?

That answer decides everything else:

āœ”ļøwhat you post
āœ”ļøhow often, and
āœ”ļø what you’re even tracking.

Skip that question, and you’re just filling a grid.
Answer it, and every post finally has a job.

šŸ“Œ Save this if you’re building your strategy from scratch.

Instagram content plan for small business doesn’t need a fancy app. Ask me how I know.

I’ve paid for planning tools and spent more time color-coding than posting. Now I use four smart folders in the Notes app already on my phone, and they sort themselves. One folder, one job. No subscription required.

šŸ“Œ Save this for your next planning day.

Instagram saves vs likes vs follows.
They don’t mean the same thing. šŸ‘€

A LIKE says ā€œnice.ā€
A SAVE says ā€œthis is useful, I want it later.ā€
A FOLLOW says ā€œI want more of this.ā€

If your posts get saved but nobody follows, your content isn’t broken. You just haven’t told anyone what’s coming next.

Save this for when you write your next post

My old account bio was vague because I was vague. šŸ™ƒ

I was promoting things that weren’t mine and trying to sound like everyone else.

Now I post with intention, and my bio finally says who I’m here for.

Your Instagram profile does the same job as the sign on the local store door. If a stranger can’t tell who you help in 5 seconds, start there.

DM me your handle and I’ll pick one bio to review in my stories this week. taken in Weslaco, Texas by @simplysandramartinez

Helloā“Is anyone out thereā“šŸ˜€

Two months of posting on purpose, and the results are… slow
I knew this would take time.

I also know one big reason why:
I’m not on camera, or doing talking videos.

And I want to be real with you about that.
My reels get the most views.
Showing my face would ā€œprobablyā€ speed things up.

But views aren’t my goal. I want to reach business owners who actually need help, not just people scrolling by.
So I’m choosing to build slower and build right.

If you’re in the early stages too, how long have you been at it? Give me someone to talk to in comments. taken in Weslaco, Texas by @simplysandramartinez

2,300 views from strangers. 17 followers. Tough crowd. šŸ˜…

That gap taught me more than any course: getting seen is step one.

šŸ”„ Giving people a reason to stay is the whole game.

Views or follows — which number do you check first?

We inherited a cat that’s had three homes before ours.
Now I know why.

Turns out he’s prone to urinary blockages, $300 vet bill and a prescription diet later šŸ¤‘, we’re ā€œmanaging it.ā€

He’s peed on stove, the sink, and my closet rug.

The 6AM hour I used to use for business? Now belongs to him.

I’ve thought about rehoming him more than I care to admit.
// My daughters do not agree.

So here we are, building a small business Instagram from scratch, one very expensive cat interruption at a time.

Anyone else’s ā€œquiet productive timeā€ gotten hijacked by something completely unrelated to the business? šŸ‘‡

Follow along for more of the real, unfiltered version of building this thing.

šŸ‘‡šŸ¼True story

I once gained 20,000 followers in a month by copying big creators.
Hundreds of comments.
Zero people who were ever going to buy.

I’m not anti-followers.
I’d love 20,000 today.

Just the right 20,000, people who actually want help with their business.

So which would you pick, ā€œ20kā€ or ā€œ200ā€?

Your grid is a like a shop window. If it only shows the product, people walk past.

The 5 buckets: product, people, place, proof, personality. One of each, on repeat.

Which one is missing from your page? Tell me below — I read every comment.
