Escaping the noise to sip wine in the quietest, coolest spot around. 🍷✨ Spent the afternoon tucked away underground at @boxwoodestatewinery in Middleburg VA for their cave tasting. Imagine sitting in a candle-lit barrel room, drinking incredible Bordeaux-style blends, and grazing on local cheese and charcuterie.

Here’s a tip: Middleburg is a gorgeous, historic town, so you can make a full day out of it by grabbing lunch or shopping before/after the tasting.

The ultimate weekend reset.

I stopped by Chrysalis Vineyards in Loudoun County, VA and sipped through some of their gold medal winning wines. Their outdoor seating area is truly something special. The tasting room is up on a hill so you get sweeping views all around and the kind of peaceful atmosphere that invites you to slow down and just be.

My favorite sips were the
🍷🏅 2024 Albariño Reserve - vibrant, aromatic, and lively notes of citrus and melon
🍷 2020 Tannat - bold and balanced, each sip unveiling a new layer of dark fruit, smoke, and spice

Finally had a chance to check out Burnt Hill Farm with fellow wine explorer Treena. A visit to this newest vineyard in Clarksburg, MD is all about making memories, from the picturesque drive up the hill to the welcome glass of Blanc de Blancs to the carefully curated food, wine and tableware experience, all while basking in stunning views.

We did the full estate tasting which includes three reserve wines, stone milled bread and seasonal garden snacks. The vegetarian in me did a little happy dance to see the table full of garden inspired food pairings! 🪴

🍷 I loved all three wines but I especially enjoyed the 2021 Regent. Medium-bodied, smooth tannins with notes of dark cherry, blackberry, plum, and spice. Regent is a disease resistant variety created in Germany and it’s super cool to see a MD vineyard leading the way in sustainable viticulture!

Thank you to our uber-knowledgeable wine guide Issac who was more than happy to share the stories behind the wines and to Drew for dropping by and sharing his passion with us ❤️

We absolutely loved the beautiful keepsake Polaroid to preserve our memorable time.

Now where can I find me a golden shovel spoon 🤔😉

Modern, Refined, Relaxed.

That is how I would describe the wines at @simpletheorywines and their tasting lounge in downtown Frederick MD. I love that they are rooted in the belief that “wine is simple in theory”

The wines beautifully express the opportunity and diversity within Maryland. I did the Theory Tasting of 5 wines which is a great way to get a sense of their winemaking style. I especially enjoyed the
🍷Vignoles - this was a new one for me, I loved the balance between the lively acidity and oaky finish
🍷 Petit Verdot - the first thing that caught my eye was the deep purple hue, this one has tons of rich dark fruit to explore
🍷 Action - left bank Bordeaux style blend that is oh so bold, complex and smooth
