On Wednesday, February 25th, ๐•ฟ๐–๐–Š๐–—๐–Ž๐–† is proud to present an evening with ๐–๐–”๐–Ž๐–ˆ๐–Š ๐•ฌ๐–ˆ๐–™๐–”๐–—, the enigmatic music project of-Sheffield-based artist @noakurzweil. One of contemporary electronic musicโ€™s most distinctive voices, Voice Actor is known for blending her haunting, deadpan vocals with dream-pop, IDM, trip-hop, and lo-fi aesthetics with hypnagogic soundscapes. Voice Actorโ€™s discography can be discovered via Nosedripโ€™s agenda-setting label STROOM, run out of the North-Western Belgian coastal city of Ostend, and has been extensively supported by NTS Radio where she also has an ongoing residency. Her releases include the sprawling digital debut Sent From My Telephone (2022) featuring 100+ tracks, followed by Fake Sleep (2023) and Lust (1) (2024) with Squu. At The Vanguard, she will disappear behind a screen-based installation, projecting visions of her distinctive world into space.Opening for Voice Actor is ๐•พ๐–Ž๐–“๐–† (@sin____a_ ), who melds hazy ambient textures with shoegazed guitar and vocals. Sina is a member of Naarm-based collective called Dregs, whose narcotised, tranced-out dubby trip-hop was released via the London-based label purely physical teeny tapes. ๐•ฎ๐–”๐–“ ๐•ป๐–†๐–“๐–Ž will DJ during the interstices, from doors and between the live sets.
