Skipping the Bad Bunny concert may have surprised you.

But it turned out to be the best seat in the house.

Watching four women in their forties before and after the show became an essay about female desire, visibility, feminism, and why millions of women seem to see something in him that has very little to do with music.

Can’t wait to hear what you think.

This isn’t really about football.

It’s about what happens when one of the world’s last shared cultural rituals becomes bigger, richer, and more commercial than ever before.

I wrote about why this World Cup feels different.

As always, I wrote about 10 national pavilions worth visiting at the 2026 Venice art biennale; “not necessarily the largest or most talked-about exhibitions, but the ones that stay with you long after you leave.”

• Japan (2-3) Ei Arakawa-Nash, Grass Babies, Moon Babies
• UK (4) Lubaina Himid, Predicting History: Testing Translation
• Morocco (5-6) Amina Agueznay, Asǝṭṭa 📸 @fotodibais / La Biennale di Venezia
• Spain (7-8) Oriol Vilanova, Los restos (The Remains) 📸 @marcozorzanello / La Biennale di Venezia
• Argentina (9) Matías Duville, Monitor Yin Yang 📸 @g.i.a.c.o.m.o.b.i.a.n.c.o Bianco / Barro Galeriá

A personal Biennale highlight: I had the pleasure of meeting @shirin__neshat - my favorite Iranian artist - in person ❤️

As you can see in the second photo, she and her work touch me on a completely different, deeper level. The way she captures the inner conflicts, strength, pain, and resilience of Iranian women always leaves me emotional 🥹

Then went to visit her Venice exhibition DO YOU DARE! at @palazzo.marin.venezia a powerful and deeply moving experience that stayed with me long after I left. Don’t miss.

“Inspired by the tragic story of Nasim Aghdam, a media figure of Iranian origin whose life and artistic practice deeply inspired Neshat, Do U Dare! explores the web of connections that bound the artists together. Filmed in three different socio-economic contexts in New York, the trilogy explores the paradox between women’s inner and outer worlds, between reality and illusion, and between American society and the Iranian female perspective.” taken in Venezia, Italia by @sinainbal

On this International Women’s Day, I’m thinking of the women of Iran - their courage, their resistance, and their insistence on freedom. Being a Persian woman in this world can be painful, I know, but I cannot begin to imagine the weight they are carrying these days. I feel it in my bones.

Hoping that one day soon we will all reunite in peace 🕊️
