Officially 6 months post surgery today! Celebrated yesterday in PT if you slide right 😉 Happy! Proud! Excited! The progress has been incredible, a lot of not so good days but those were the days that help build resilience and determination, there’s still more work and a little bit of healing to be done. Dear Berlin Marathon, maybe next year I’ll be a speed demon? I’ve been processing all the feelings about this race, the journey it took to get here, but unfortunately it wasn’t my time to do it! With 3 miles left - you bet your ass off I tried everything but my right leg wouldn’t give - it took a few people to knock some common sense into me to exit out the race for my own well-being, turned out I had a fractured femur! Surgery was successful ❤️ No I didn’t know about this prior, no I didn’t feel any crucial pain during my training season, but who knows what could have led to this, but regardless it happened, and now I have my own recovery marathon battle - scared to start again but I’ll be out there soon! @berlinmarathon please check your DM, let me in next year? 🥹🫶🏽 Nevertheless, proud of how far I’ve grown as a runner, and lucky to see the world in a special way! To my family, friends, E4L’s, my running family, and all the angels I meet along the way here in Germany, the love, the help and support, gosh ya have been my biggest strength! 4 Years of doing the BK half, but this time it was different! I got to run with @dahiiana seeing you pull through, extremely proud of you ❤️ completing your second half, it was not easy, with the humidity and heat, so happy we made it to that finish line, and thank you for trusting me to be your Coach 😂! To everyone out there supporting and giving us love, we really appreciate it! Energy was needed! Next race Mexico City! NYC 2025 Half! I can’t seem to run away from you! Year 5 in the books, this time finished with a new PR, a sprained ankle, running the BK bridge with only runners, and a lot of “I love your fit” shoutouts 😂 but never less extremely proud of the growth and extremely grateful to be around a supportive run community, family and friends. Around mile 10 I saw my mom out in the massive crowds of Brooklyn (ENERGY UNMATCHED), gave her a hug and said “I got to fly” and she said “GO!” An unexpected moment kept me flying! @nycmarathon has to be the best marathon ever! Seeing my family and friends out in the crowds……..I’m still living in that moment! I love ya so much and appreciate ya so much! ❤️🥹 NYC down! 2 majors down and only 4 more to go!
