I'm excited too announce that I will be teaching at the The Little Carver for 6 weeks!

After taking time to invest in my own reflection and education over the past year and a half I am ready to give back. Each week will build upon itself, but the focus of each class is it's own golden nugget.

I'm so excited to see ya'll in class! 🤗

Class name: Homecoming Series

Description: This series is about taking a break from counts and steps to come home to your body. Each week we will focus on elements of movement that ground us, shift perspective, and develop your unique artistic voice. Bring a journal, an open heart, and child-like curiosity.

When: Saturdays October 17th - November 21st

Time: 11am-12:30pm taken in The Little Carver Theater by @sing_dance_write_love

'Wild Women Make Wild Drinks' San Antonio 2026 was a WILDLY Successful night!!! The Finalists blew us all away with their creativity and par excellence!
The judges (HUGE Shout out to Lis Forsythe, Lauren Beckman, Mary Gonzales, and Jackie Arnette--thank you all So Much) had the toughest time finding the top 3...the scores were so tight that we had to move it to 4 winners. And here's the Biggest ShoutOut of all....to ALL of these lovely ladies who totally rocked it last night! From Left to Right we have:

The hosts at @rockandryebar were incredible (Big Shout out to Jorge in the background), and the crowd was fantastic. Thanks to a hugely supportive crowd we raised $680 for The Magdalena House @magdalena_house in San Antonio! That is our largest Wild Women Donation yet, and i'm so proud of you San Antonio. We'll be posting more about the winners and the winning cocktails later this week...so stay tuned. I'll be dancing in this event a few days after I compete. Come support art collaborations in San Antonio if you are free that night! Event description below.

Join us for an evening of music, movement, and collaboration with Nicole Cherry, Tanesha Payne, and Aaron Prado in Lady Strings the Blues, a dynamic performance inside Coates Chapel at UTSA’s Southwest Campus on April 1 at 7:30 PM.

Blending jazz, classical, and contemporary influences, this performance features an evening of interdisciplinary collaboration. The evening will include selections inspired by Billie Holiday, alongside works by composers such as Duke Ellington and Igor Stravinsky, offering a rich and unexpected musical journey.

The performance is supported by UT San Antonio string students, faculty and sumRset Movement dancers, with a special featured appearance by Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson.

Well...here goes nothing!

First time competing in a cocktail competition for many reasons I'd be happy to discuss, if you're curious.

Hopped on this train last minute. This one challenged me when I was ready to take the easy route and reminded me why I love this craft oh so much. Collected memories and tools from throughout the years helped me pull together a fabulous cocktail in 3 days time. I'll make a separate post of the cocktail and what inspired it soon.

I won't be dancing in this one, but I might be shaking and stirring up some cocktails.
Come watch, learn, and move with some of my favorite ladies in this city. Dance changes lives, just give it a chance.

**UPDATE**
This morning Katana was adopted & renamed Sam. She has a dad and uncle that plan on giving her all the time, training, & love she needs. My heart is full even though the house feels a bit empty this evening.

I found this precious girl roaming my block, went outside to say Hi & give her a pat on the head... got home from work that night to her having hopped the fence to chill by my front door.

Well over a month later, she has received all her vacancies & has fully recovered from being spayed. And *drum roll* is up for adoption!

About Katana:
Breed: Straight back German Shepherd
Age: Veterinarian says 1 - 1.5 years old
Weight: 55lbs
Personality = goofy girl, sweet, a wee bit stubborn
Energy = high, needs both brain & physical activity daily
Good with = kids, little dogs, most large dogs, halfway there with cats, crate training, brain games, learning tricks
Working on = not reacting to men in masks/hoodies, jumping up when excited, developing relationships with cats (mine don't like to play with dogs), and overall basic command training.

The Veterinarian & I believe that Katana was likely used for breeding. It looks like she already had at least one litter of puppies. She plays EXTREMELY well with puppies & little dogs at the dog park. She has some triggers to men in masks/hoodies & reactive/aggressive dogs, but is willing to actively work on it if treats are involved. She plays SOCCER! She can easily be trained to run an obstacle course...again she's food & praise motivated.

Katana would be a great fit for an active person/family. Hikes, walks, runs, kicking a soccer ball around, she's ready for it all!
Anyone who would like to invest time & treats to teach her all the tricks their heart desires. She is eager to learn & please.
Because of her unknown, but likely rough past, she requires a lot of patience, kindness, repetition, & consistency. I know that all of that will be rewarded with the best kisses & cuddles an owner could want though. If I had the time & space I would keep her myself, but it's just bad timing.

Nothing can prepare you for these moments...not even the knowing that they're coming. These are the moments when the world feels so unjust, unfair, and cruel; the complexity of relief sadness and rage moving through me right now is unreal.

The dance community lost one of it's great creators/educators/performers and my friend group lost an incredible friend who brought a lot of joy, laughter, and loving support to our lives.

JLo, I feel so thankful to have known you half of my life. We met and held eachother at so many different stages. I'll always hold these moments and videos of us in our happy dance world dear to my heart. You are my little golden nugget, my reminder, to keep teaching and dancing because it means everything to live in and spread that type of magic during what little time we have here on this tiny slice of the universe. I'll dance with you in my heart forevermore and keep your laugh in my mind for when those hard days hit. Rest easy my little dancing queen.

Finally had the family, friend, and animal filled day my little heart desired! 🥰

@calvaryfarms_sa is such an amazing place to spend a morning/evening/afternoon! We attended their Fall Festival opening day event and had a blast meeting/petting all the animals. The owners and staff are extremely friendly, sharing countless background and funny stories about all the animals.

I came for the cow cuddles, but sharing these moments with my niece and seeing my buddy get aggressively hit on by an Emu, then bullied by her boyfriend for it, were the highlights of my day! I'll definitely be going back for more animal fun, hugs, and love soon. I waited too long for this first visit. taken in Calvary Farms by @sing_dance_write_love

Taking this contemporary jazz class with @katitiking after 11 long years was one of the most joyful and revitalizing portions of my trip to NYC.

Her classes got me through some tough times in college. She always gave helpful input/feedback, played music I could relate to (I discovered @officialmeshell and @erykahbadu in her classroom), and moved in ways that just felt good to my body.

Coming back to this space after so much growth and at a transitional time in my life was a full circle moment. My heart, body, and soul enjoyed class from beginning to end. I shut out all self judgment and just danced for myself for a whole 2 hours with Katiti as my guide.

Then we sat to catch up another day, and man, oh man, this woman is a power house. She's a well of knowledge, a keeper of stories, a mentor, and so much more. I'm so thankful to have crossed paths with her back then and even more now. The love and support she's shown me in both sections of my timeline are immense and unforgettable. Many thanks to you, and I will be in touch. We're here to serve a greater purpose. 🙌🏽✨️🫶🏽💫

It’s the little things y’all…these kids don’t even understand how precious written words mean to me.

I find it difficult to speak clearly from brain to mouth, but somehow the medium of writing always helps me lay my heart and brain out for others to understand and relate to. Also, cards and notes are things I can go back to read for memories and reminders for why I do what I do…why I move through the world the way I do…what my purpose on this planet is.
These students specifically give back every bit of what I put out. That’s all I could hope and ask for. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them, me, us.

Wow! This is real and official…my feet were just soaking in epsom salt and I’m about to jump into an ice cold shower.

I’m dancing on a real stage with lighting cues, costumes, makeup, a story to tell, and with fellow dancers/dance educators I adore.
I haven’t done this since I was a teenager even though I went to college for dance…which is a whole other story I may open up about as I weave through this journey. I’m filled with pride, joy, and inspiration this evening as I watch our rehearsal video and write this post.
I would love to see tons of familiar faces in the audience at this event. The dance community here is in need of more love and support. It is brewing with passion and potential just waiting for the opportunity to give and do more. Plus, considering how much I talk about dance you should probably come see me do the damn thing! 😜
