Thank you to everyone who came out to the first iteration of @singlespeedoklahoma 🖤 We had homies, old and new, from all over make the trek to Stillwater. The weekend went perfectly and I can’t wait to give it another go next year.

Thank you to the crew at @districtbicycles (@unlearnpavement / @getwide) for letting me borrow all your shit! Thank you @painpatina for all the help and for throwing down on the Blackstone for breakfast. Thank you @gottalovegravel for having that last minute loaner on hand after the 🌮 party the night before. Thank you @dirt_dad for immortalizing the weekend 📸. Thank you @pedalhut for helping all weekend and assisting in the strider bike course, go rest that back! And finally, thank you @elevatedokie for everything, but most importantly, putting up with me bouncing a million ideas off you for weeks leading up to the event. I felt like I was in over my head the entire time, but you helped bring it all together.

This Saturday Night!

We’re gonna kick off SSOK with a night ride of Red trail at 6pm. This is a fun 7 mile loop and we’ll have at least one regroup about halfway through.

This is completely optional and we will have folks tending the campsite during that time as well. If you do plan on riding, do not forget your lights!

Following the ride, we will have hot dogs and s’mores to refuel for our nighttime events! While optional, please feel free to bring some snacks or beverages to go with those dawgs.

Time is running out, don’t forget to register!

I am working on finalizing the schedule, but here’s a high level view.

Saturday evening we’ll have a group night ride followed by some campfire food and snacks. Since everyone loves a little friendly competition, we’ll have several fun (rowdy) races/contests at the campsite. Saturday night will be a party, do not miss out!

There will be open camping available with plenty of space! There are bathrooms nearby and running water at the pavilion.

Sunday morning we’ll have 🥞 and ☕️ before heading out on the trails. We’ll have a ~ 4 mile group trail ride out to a big’ol meetup in the woods. After you’ve had your fill of fun, the rest is up to you! I plan on having 3 main groups (8 mile, 16 mile, and 25 mile). As I mentioned before, there are a ton of options, so we will get you as much or as little riding as you want.

Please feel free to show up early and ride Saturday.

Finally, our local bike shop (and huge help for this event) @districtbicycles will be open on Saturday from 10-3 if you have any last minute needs! taken in Lake McMurtry East by @singlespeedoklahoma

Here are the 4 main trails at Lake McMurtry. The beauty of our trail system is that you can ride as little or as much as you want, without too much commitment.

The Yellow and Red trails, which will be featured at SSOK, both have “short” versions that will put you in the 3-5 mile range. On the other hand, you can ride the whole trail system which offers right around 35 miles (including some connectors).

The format of SSOK will largely be “choose your own adventure” but we’ll work to establish groups to link up like-minded individuals.

The two day event will be MUCH more than just a mountain bike ride, so please consider registering and coming up to Stillwater to enjoy the fall weather with friends. The $25 registration covers parking, camping, breakfast, and the rides/events.

As a reminder, season pass holders can use code “NOPARK” for $6 off and FTWNB riders can use code “FTWNB50” for half off reg.

Loaner #2 ‼️

@elevatedokie has graciously offered up her pride & joy for a loaner. This is a SMALL @surlybikes Karate Monkey that’ll feel right at home for someone 5’0 - 5’4.

Who doesn’t love a tidy @salsacycles El Mariachi?

I’m working on putting together some loaner bikes for those of you who are single speed curious but can’t quite commit. First up is this classic MEDIUM El Mar. We can make this work for anyone between 5’6- 5’11 (give or take).

The Good: comfy setup, classic Vittoria Mezcal’s, comfortable trail ratio, free.99 to borrow

The Bad: you have to give it back to me on Sunday
