Well, well, well… let me tell you a little bit about myself.When @sinematic.studios showed me these photos—especially the first one—I honestly couldn’t believe my own eyes. It was hard to process that I was really looking at myself. I thought I looked beautiful.And somehow, that feeling healed a little piece of the child I used to be. Little Liza grew up in a place where diversity wasn’t really part of everyday life. She was “the Black girl.” The weird one. The tomboy who would rather play soccer with the boys, spend hours playing Pokémon, Dofus, League of Legends or World of Warcraft, listen to music nobody around her understood, and dress differently.But more than anything, there was her hair. She grew up believing it wasn’t “normal.” That it wasn’t pretty. That it needed to be fixed. For years, she thought the only way to fit in was to hide it or straighten it. She spent so long hating something that had never actually been wrong. And even then, it still wasn’t enough.Going outside meant being ready for intrusive questions, unsolicited comments, and people’s opinions about her skin color or her hair. So today, these photos mean so much more than a few beautiful portraits.They’re proof that little Liza was right to never completely let go of who she was. Even when she hid parts of herself, she was always looking for ways to protect herself, to build confidence, and to become stronger.Today, little Liza has grown up. She has learned to love her body. To love her hair. To realize that the world is so much bigger than the one she grew up in. That she was never the problem—she was simply different in an environment where difference wasn’t understood.She made herself a promise: to never hide again. And no matter what happens, no one will ever be able to take that peace away from her.Well well well… laissez-moi vous raconter un peu de moi.Quand Sin a pris ces photos et me les a montrées — surtout la première — je n’en croyais pas mes yeux.
