Amazing talents on display at the Jette Parker performance today at the Royal Ballet And Opera. Review for Operawire to follow! by @siphekwani

TNC | OPERA INTERVIEW 2026

The Jette Parker Artists summer performance, accompanied by the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, will see the star conductors, singers, répétiteurs and directors of the future present a range of repertoire on the Royal Opera House’s Main Stage Sunday 26, 12:00.

We spoke with baritone Siphe Kwani about being part of this years showcase and what audiences might expect:

"This year’s showcase is very exciting because it includes music from several wonderful operas that are not usually done at The Royal Ballet and Opera so it gives a different taste of music . I’ll be performing Rodolfo from Leoncavallo’s La bohème, Lorenzo from I Capuleti e i Montecchi, and Danilo from Die lustige Witwe. Each character has a unique personality, so it’s been a great opportunity to explore different styles of music and storytelling. And also it’s a chance to celebrate our journey, share our passion with the audience, and give people a glimpse of the next generation of opera artists."

Looking back a few weeks to Oliver Mears’s production of Rigoletto @royalballetandopera conducted by a wonderful Sir Mark Elder. Truly a privilege to work alongside such a wonderful cast and creative team, and a memory I’ll forever keep in the archives. A beautiful reminder that dreams really do come true when you keep believing and never give up on what you love.🎭❤️ by @siphekwani

All Smiles
Siphe Kwani | Shoot 1

Siphe is an operatic baritone from Africa and currently one of the Jette Parker Young artists at the RBO.

A lovely gentleman and amazing singer, I first met Siphe in a production of Fidelio at the RBO where he was performing the role of 1st prisoner.

With a Faust performance the night before at the RBO, I managed to squeeze in this 1-hour morning session in London before travelling to Plymouth for the final Peter Grimes with WNO that evening.
