Sometimes creative ritual looks like making art.

And sometimes it looks like making yourself a warm cup of tea and actually being there for it. 🫖💖

Yesterday morning I could feel myself needing to slow down, so instead of rushing through making my tea, I let it become a little soul care break.

I checked in with myself. I noticed what I was feeling and what I needed. I smelled the tea, held the warm cup in my hands, took a breath…and gave myself a few minutes to just be.

Nothing complicated. Just intention.

This is one of the reasons I love including tea in our Seasonal Muse Boxes. Creative ritual doesn’t only have to happen when we sit down with our art supplies. It can live in the everyday things we already do.

And the beautiful tea I’ve been sipping is from our Creative Comadre, Sara of @sipsofwhimsy. 🫖✨ Sara has been creating our seasonal tea blends for the Muse Box, and she created something special for our Fall box too, her Caramel Kiss blend 🍂

I’m so grateful to have her creativity woven into another season with us.

🦋🌼I had already planned to share this post about why I chose the word whimsy when I started Sips of Whimsy. And then today, the world lost Dolly Parton.

It made me think about this word a little differently.

Dolly spent a lifetime showing us that you don’t have to make yourself smaller, quieter, less colorful, or less you to be taken seriously. You can wear the rhinestones. Tell the stories. Laugh loudly. Love where you come from. Be soft and strong. Give generously. And bring a little joy with you wherever you go.

Maybe that’s a little bit of what whimsy has always meant to me.

When I started Sips of Whimsy in 2024, “whimsy” wasn’t a trend. It wasn’t a word I was seeing everywhere or an aesthetic everyone was suddenly trying to recreate.

For me, whimsy was a feeling.

It’s finding little pockets of joy in ordinary days.

A cup of tea.
A thrifted find.
A random glimmer.
Flowers growing wild in the garden.
The comfort of my grandmother’s kitchen.
Something completely unnecessary that makes you smile anyway.

It’s letting yourself be playful, nostalgic, colorful, and maybe even a little silly in a world that is constantly telling us to grow up and be serious.

That’s what I wanted Sips of Whimsy to feel like.

And seeing “whimsy” having its moment now makes me smile, because maybe we’re all craving the same thing…a little more softness, imagination, nostalgia, color, and joy in our everyday lives.

Trends come and go. But I hope we never stop finding reasons to make life a little more whimsical.

And today, maybe we add a few extra rhinestones. 💗✨

Hey friends!! 🧡 Sorry it’s been a little quiet around here. Ya girl has been struggling to keep up with this hectic world lately. 😭

Moving and getting the new tea studio set up for order packing has officially kicked my behind, but I’m so happy to say things finally seem to be turning around and settling into place. 🥹

I’ve been prioritizing getting orders packed and out the door this past week, so if I promised you a care package, please know it’s on the way!! 💌 I haven’t forgotten about you.

I hope you’re all doing good, taking care of yourselves, and finding a little whimsy wherever you can. Thank you for sticking around while I get my footing again. I appreciate this little community more than you know. 🥹🌼💛

One of my favorite parts of unpacking the new tea studio has been finding a spot for all the beautiful pieces from all of my sweet friends. 🥹💖

This lovely cross stitch is from the wonderful @bailey__ashton__vintage, and I couldn’t think of a more fitting reminder for this new chapter.

“Keep a place in your heart where dreams can grow…” 🌼✨

As I build this little dream, I find myself brought to tears almost every day by the kindness I’ve been shown. Whether it’s a thoughtful comment, an order, or simply someone cheering me on, I’m constantly reminded of how many beautiful souls this journey has brought into my life.

Thank you all for being here…for encouraging me, believing in me, and walking alongside me as I learn, grow, and build Sips of Whimsy into everything I’ve dreamed it could be. I truly couldn’t do this without you, and I’ll never take this community for granted. 💖🥹 by @sipsofwhimsy

My mom always called this frappé! 🍹

I didn’t realize until recently that everyone seemed to have a different name for it. Depending on where you grew up, you might know it as church punch, baby shower punch, Grinch punch, party punch, hood punch… or even Floating Island Punch, the name Betty Crocker featured in the 1970s.

No matter what you called it, this punch always seemed to make an appearance at church fellowships, family reunions, birthday parties, and just about every celebration in between.

Instead of the traditional fruit punch, I gave it a little Sips of Whimsy twist by using my Fruity Summer Serenade tea as the base. It turned out every bit as nostalgic as I remembered. ☀️🍍

✨ Recipe✨
🍵 4 tbsp Fruity Summer Serenade tea to 4 cups water, brewed and completely chilled
🍊 1 (12 oz) can frozen orange juice concentrate
🍍 12 oz pineapple juice (use the empty concentrate can to measure!)
🥤 4 cans ginger ale (add sparkling water to taste for extra fizz, if you’d like)
🌈🍨 ½ gallon rainbow sherbet

Combine the chilled tea, orange juice concentrate, pineapple juice, and ginger ale. Add sparkling water if desired, then top with scoops of rainbow sherbet just before serving.
