This pretty song is out today. Nothing fancy about it. Just a good story. There’s a woman who protects a village at the edge of the world. An angel of sorts, whose name is Mary. One summer, she vanishes. Now the village burns and sings for Mary’s return. The track is bare, and that’s what such a story deserves. Like any song worth its salt, the heavens dropped this tune atop my head…with a vision of this village and its earnest people. Something tells me they’re real. In another place, perhaps in another time. Now their story is yours. by @sirdalirose

Excited to share this one. It’s full of color, radiant joy, and heart-throbbing nostalgia. It’s a song for smiles, letting it all go. For anybody who’s curious, I’ll tell you what the song is about later❤️
I’m finding peace, man. See, last bit of my life I’ve been thinking about the long run. All that smoking, all that drinking, all that complaining… all that wishing I could just MAKE IT to the DESTINATION. I’m realizing the universe reveals your path in time. No amount of negativity and hatred for myself and others will change it.
So I’m taking it day by day. Enjoying all the universe’s blessings, chief among them is music - man, it’s so MAGICAL. I’m chasing that magic, and I’m sprinkling as much as I can into these tracks. Thanks for following along with me, thanks for watching me become a man, and slowly become the artist I was born to be. Enjoy this track and the many more to come.

I used to be an activist. I guess I still am. I worked with a youth-led climate organization called the Sunrise Movement around the height of the pandemic. There were and remain magical people within that organization, who really really give a fuck. They genuinely believe that if enough of us are activated, a world of equal opportunity is possible. I really hope that’s true. I was just so sick of feeling like we were punching a brick wall. With this song and others, I decided to just write my feelings down, breathe them a new life…share it with somebody and send it down the river. I have to believe that matters. by @sirdalirose

I produced and engineered this. This is my first real step into maximalist production styles: dedicated arrangements and emulation of big studio sounds.

It came out well, and I learned more than I’d could have imagined. Proud of the results, and HUMBLED…

Blessed to have these talented folks in my life.

‘The Roof’ is all yours. Enjoy. All platforms.

Looking like I do, making what I make, it can feel alienating. There’s this bar from ‘Chum’ by Earl Sweatshirt…’too black for the white kids and too white for the blacks..from honor roll to cracking locks off them bicycle racks..’ Earl said it better than I ever could. There’s something magical about that generation of hip-hop: a brazen embrace of all influences, all the SHIT that makes a person a person … and disregard for all forms of categorization. Earl, Tyler, King Krule, Frank Ocean, A$AP, list goes on and on, they told me to be myself, my sweaty nappy-headed self, and stand on it.

There’s a throughline to generations past who made similar choices: the Sly Stones, the Jimi Hendrixes, the Nina Simones…and musicians of all walks and colors who faced similar pressures to compartmentalize, yet dared to be themselves.

Sometimes, it feels like I’m losing the 2026 popularity contest. I’m a bit reclusive: a bad texter who doesn’t know how to maintain a network. I’m too caught up. I’m trying to live life, then nurture life within my music. I beat myself up. They tell you to network, promote yourself with reckless abandon, they tell you to reach out….present yourself on a golden platter and if NOT …. you’ll lose relationships, lose loved ones, lose opportunities. And ALL OF THAT remains true…but my father is one of the greatest artists I’ve ever known. And recently, he told me: those traits are signs of an artist, a REAL artist…and THATS something to be proud of.

So here I am, awkwardly finding the strength to be proud. Thank you, father. Thank you, mother. Thank you, Nana. Thank you, Ruby. Thank you to anyone who has ever helped me find the strength.

And Cheers to the art. Cheers to ourselves. May we keep on tinkering away, crawling closer to peace💜 by @sirdalirose
