🍁THE RUPIN PASS 🍁
.
If there is a trek in India that surprises you at every turn, it has to be the Rupin Pass trek. This trek is like an orchestra, building momentum with surprises in scenery every hour. You’ll never see it coming.
.
The Rupin Pass is a high altitude mountain pass, climbing to ~15,250 feet. The adventure and thrill of ascending to such an altitude in the Indian Himalayas makes it a terrific trek on its own. And then come the surprises : Rupin Gully, first view of Rupin river, peaceful forest section, view of Waterfall, I can go on and on about my highlights of the trek.
.
I don't think that the trek has to be done without the FUN part. And, I was lucky enough to lead the last group of Rupin pass in autumn seasons of 2023. I took my ukulele on a trek and couldn't stop myself from singing my favourite song of all time. by @sirfalveera

Let me tell you, this is from Sabargram campsite of Sandakphu Phalut trek ❤️

It was extremely cold and windy but I had my ukulele and bunch of beautiful people around so what can we do ?

When you go for Gaumukh Tapovan trek, always push yourself a bit more to witness the huge mountain, i.e., Mt. Shivling.

All the pain, efforts are worth it when you are getting a reward for it and this is how I celebrated my reward.

‘Treks That Transform Lives’

I didn’t truly understand what these words meant before I joined Indiahikes.

My trekkers know this because I often share the story of my first Himalayan trek to Roopkund and how it changed me. Moving from a corporate job to the world of trekking was a big shift, and looking back, I can see how much that journey has shaped me.

I have spent close to 2.5 years leading treks in the Himalayas, been part of the training team (DATA — Diptarka, Alveera, Teena and Abhishek), contributed to the journey of training new Trek Leaders at Indiahikes, and have been managing a slope for the past year.

On 25th October, I completed five years with Indiahikes. I cannot thank the organisation enough for the faith and trust it has placed in me since day one.

@venkat.ganesh.g has been my mentor since I joined as an ATL. I also got the opportunity to work closely with him during my journey with the training team. He has scolded me, supported me, and guided me through many phases. I will always be grateful for that.

My trainers, Vijeet and Shyama, taught me some important life skills during my ATL training, lessons that have stayed with me beyond the training itself.

There are also many people outside the organisation who have supported me throughout this journey. I may not be able to mention everyone, but I will always be grateful for their contribution to my life.

I celebrated my five years with Indiahikes on the Goechala trek, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to mark this milestone. What better way to celebrate a journey shaped by the mountains than by being in the mountains themselves?

Akshay, Teena and Harshit — I missed you! by @sirfalveera

Spiti has long been a mystery to the rest of the country. Its stark cold-desert landscape and its mixed culture, shaped over years of contact with the faraway lands of Tibet, are things we’ve admired from far away.
.
At Indiahikes, we have always wanted to change that. The base village and your initial interactions are all you have to take in the culture.
That is why we explored the Spiti Monastery Trek and recently I got a chance to co-lead the pilot group along with @diptarkagupta and it is such a beautiful trek .
.
Some treks stay with you long after you leave the mountains.
.
Spiti Monastery Trek was one of those experiences for me , raw landscapes, ancient monasteries, fossils, blue sheep, local food, homestays and, most importantly, the warmth and simplicity of the people.
.
Every day had something new to discover.

Spiti, you were truly special. by @sirfalveera

Much awaited snowfall has finally arrived at Raithal !!! ❄️ by @sirfalveera

Goodbye to the year that taught me lessons I didn’t always understand at the time.

Goodbye to the days I was hard on myself, the moments I felt rushed, and the times I forgot to rest.

I did the best I could with what I knew, and that is enough.

Thank you for the growth, the resilience, and the quiet strength I found along the way.

I release what no longer serves me and step forward lighter than before.

Happy new day, new year and new beginning and to enjoy Little things in life ! by @sirfalveera
