Hi from this corner of the internet! If you’re new here, thank you for stopping by. And to the people who have stayed - thank you for being part of this little beginning.
After years away from creating, I found my way back to art through tiny experiments, just making things that bring me joy and… honestly, a slightly unreasonable number of art mediums.
Digital art? Yes but not my favorite.
Gouache? Absolutely.
Watercolors? Of course.
Acrylic Markers? My current Obsession.

I’m still discovering my style, still learning, and still figuring out what I want my art to become. But I’m learning that I don’t have to have it all figured out before I share the journey. So this is SiriMiriMist - my little creative corner where I am discovering myself and hopefully making something beautiful along the way. Thank to my tiny community and I’m so excited to see where this journey takes us.

With deepest gratitude
Nayab

To any art enthusiast, Lilly pads or water lillies might immediately bring to mind the paintings of Claude Monet. And while seeing that painting is still on my bucket list, my own memories always take me back to the scenes of the Dal Lake in Kashmir. To the Shikaras gliding quietly across the surface. To the long, slender stems of the water lilies, gathered from the water uprooted from where they grew, yet still holding their blooms. There is something about that image that stays with me.

Uprooted, but still connected.
Disconnected from the soil, but still carrying its beauty.
Beautiful and holding its strength and resilience.

It reminds me of where I am from. Of my roots. Of the things we inherit without even realizing it.

This painting reminds me of my dad and a fleeting memory that I hold onto very strongly. It reminds me that being separated from where we began does not mean losing what shapes us. Even when our roots are no longer visible, they remain with us in the way we see create remember and carry love forward, so maybe this painting is my way of finding my way back to you, Dad.

Back to the water.
Back to my roots.
Back to something beautiful that even when uprooted still knows how to bloom.

Measuring 2.5 x 3.5 inches, this miniature painting captures the gentle waterfall cascading, its flowing movement embodying the untamed spirit of nature.
The soft rhythm of falling water creates a peaceful melody, inviting you to pause, breathe, and simply be.
A quiet reminder that there is beauty in moving freely, while still finding peace along the way.

Jumping onto the ACEO trend… a little late, but definitely not missing it. These tiny 2.5 x 3.5 pieces have quietly become my daily ritual. They make art feel doable again. No pressure, no overthinking, just showing up and creating. There’s something freeing about working small. I get to explore, experiment, and actually understand my medium instead of trying to perfect it. Some days it’s messy, some days it clicks but every day, it counts.
And honestly, the best part?
Knowing these little pieces might find homes of their own. That something I made, in a small moment of my day, gets to live somewhere else and mean something to someone else.

Small art. Big joy.

Spectrum Unbound: Bodhi

No. 4 in the series “Sweet but Savage”

The elite cub of childhood treats, aka sugar powered chaos in purest form bringing turbo toddler mode. We limit the how and when but not the magic of it. Because he gets to have his candy moments too—sticky fingers, big smiles, and all.
Growing up, treats felt simple. No labels, no second thoughts - just pure joy. Now? I read ingredients like it’s a full-time job.

Spectrum Unbound: Bodhi

No.3 in the series - Egg-cited For Bacon

Some wins come sunny-side up (although Bodhi’s favorite is fried) with a side of bacon. This classic pairing became a staple every morning. Eggs and bacon made it to Bodhi’s yes list and were one of the easier choices he adapted to.

Also one of the first words he could label in the food category: “EGG.” Every time he said it, we’d light up… and run to make it happen :) More than just food—this was communication, connection, and a big little win.

Spectrum Unbound: Bodhi

In our gut-healing journey, “Sardine-ly the Best” discovery and unexpected win was Sardines :) Like everything else, it started with trial and error - just hoping Bodhi would fall in love with one more food, one more choice, one more step towards a wider palette. He surprised me. The taste, the texture, the smell, things I assumed might overwhelm him didn’t seem to bother him at all.
I still remember the rust time he tried it. He dug into his bowl of rice and sardines like it was his soul food, fully enjoying every bite.

When Bodhi’s diagnosis became a reality, one of my biggest fears was the kind of food he would live on for the rest of his life. The world of the spectrum can feel overwhelming. There are no guarantees, no single path, and no universal outcomes. What works for one child may not work for another. That’s why it is called a spectrum. This uncertainty touches everything not just therapy, medication, or routines, but even the smallest, most everyday details of life. Fortunately, one of the superfoods—blueberries happens to be his favorite.

Through Spectrum Unbound: Bodhi, I want to celebrate these small victories. In this series, I will paint all of his favorite foods using acrylic markers, a new medium I am learning, capturing not just what he eats, but the story, comfort, and joy behind each one.
