I was driving past the old park I grew up skating at and decided to pull over and check it out for old times sake. It brought back all kinds of memories of being a kid here. My mom or grandfather used to drop me off here in the morning and pick me up when it got dark almost everyday in the summer. It made me realize how important this place and skateboarding was to shaping who I am. It has had an impact on almost every decision I’ve made in my life. I’m super thankful to have had public parks like this one growing up, and It’s great to see the public parks in our communities re-opening so kids can go be kids, make life long friends, break bones and learn some life lessons on 4 wheels and a piece of wood, or kicking/shooting a ball around or whatever it may be. 18 years ago I spent most of those summer days learning this trick, and 18 years later it feels just as good rolling away from it. I know its been really hard times for a lot people lately, but I hope some of you have been able to find the time to reflect and appreciate some things you maybe haven’t in awhile, I sure as hell have. taken in Shell Park by @sirjonathanc
