civivi, meet tuxie. the civivi purr is hypo-allergenic, and whether you can pet him or not, tuxie is undeniably a sweetheart (not my cat, we just met today). both have sharp claws taken in Hello Kitty by @sirmitchellot

holy moly! a kickstarter project backed october 2, 2025, in the works for the last 7 years, collaboration between @shirepostmint, @izzywilliamsonprints and a number of others. so many hands on and minds in this project! i just about did a flip when i got the delivery notification! then… turned out no package to speak of… not to worry. that didn’t stress me out or anything at alllll. definitely not a mind-racing, overthinking, freaking-out, restless search for answers (and the package) kind of situation. went to the post office, they looked around, caught the postal driver, asked if he could double check the truck, no luck! wahhh! luckily, shire post has amazing communication and said no matter what, we’ll get one of these to you. just keep us posted and if it’s not resolved by the end of the week, we’ll take next measures.
anyway, turns out it was delivered across the street, inside the fence, tucked into a corner on their porch. what a feeling to finally see this in real life, real metal and cloth and paper form.
i don’t even know how to read tarot, but holy molycow what amazing work izzy, shire post team, and all involved in this cool project.

TL;DR ooh shiny. yay. wow. neat ✨ taken in Mendocino Coast by @sirmitchellot

“the key to good photos is loving who/what is on the other side of the lens”
going ahead and posting in this account even though @ritter.aerial.video it had been quite a while since wiggling some sticks. not since practice in simulators, but since actually charging some battery packs and flying. for perspective on the “STAY CALM” internal anxiety throughout this, the stick movement was about 4 to 5mm on spiky round knobby ends on short sticks with about 135° of movement range in all directions. anyway, beautiful property, fun flight. thanks for looking, if ya do! 🕹️🚁✨ taken in Mendocino Coast by @sirmitchellot

welp, managed to go a whole month without losing it [again] 🖋️🗡️ a “pen knife” dates back to days when people would scribe ink onto paper by first having something sharp and thin enough to slice a nib into the end of a quill 🪶 then dipping this newly-formed nib into ink (walnut ink and white-tailed kite feather seen here) and lettin those words flow! 📜 turns out it takes significantly longer than i thought. by this method and font size, maybe 2 or 3 letters before having to reload the ink. makes even modern fountain pens seem like such a luxury. anyhoo, this was a fun “challenge” in this group of knife enthusiasts, junkies, collectors, dorks. only carrying and using one knife for the month of august. sharpening, stropping was allowed. no other modifications after the start of the month. i chose the spyderco uk pen knife hailing from golden, colorado, usa, earth🌎 , vp creations vintage black linen micarta scales from the uk with pocket clip milling added by chase of boatright bladeworks. media blasted hardware by chase (matte finish), crowned spine, ferric chloride etch, brass and copper tumble and sharpening by me. too easy! 8/8 gr8 m8. would go again

August 24 🗓️ National Knife Day! When I was about 12 years old and visiting my aunt and uncle, my uncle handed me two [very entry-level] pocket knives and said, “Mitchell, you can have one.” Sweet! For the next couple days, I had so many questions for him. “This one is all metal and has these little barrel thingies on the back, but this one seems plastic and has just this sort of split line seam thing here. This one has this little tab, this one has these bumpy things” and I think at that point my uncle @spyderwa was just kind of going “Oh god I’ve created a monster MITCHELL JUST PICK ONE AND I’M GIFTING IT TO YOU”
He would also take me to this place that had retired school things and office supplies, chairs, keyboards, speakers, desks, rulers, protractors, crayons… confiscated TSA stuff… “this bin everything is $2, this bucket $3, this bin $3” a handful of schmucks line up at the door in the morning, no running. I’m standing there at my uncle’s pant leg, I don’t know anyone. I just like lookin at pens and pencils and stuff. I go over to one of the bins just to kinda shuffle around. Hey, a Spyderco! I heard from my uncle those are pretty good. Yoink! $3. I am the proud owner of what I hope/trust will be a pretty good pocket knife. Wahoo! Didn’t really think much of it, but now I have TWO knives! Whoa! Some years down the line, like in my mid-20s or so, I start looking at knives again. @blade_chuudoku sells me a Spyderco Southard. I kinda caught “the bug” again (pun intentional) Then I started REALLY noticing what made knives different. Materials, mechanisms, steel composition, all this crazy stuff. Then I started learning how to sharpen. Then I really really start learning the differences in steel compositions and qualities. Started doing modifications, talking to way more people in the community, getting aftermarket scales and stuff (@nickabrack). Believe it or not, I’ve kinda calmed down on nerding out now, but still keep my eyes peeled for things that are really innovative or makers who are doing cool things or just flat out good people. I’ve had a number of incredible things happen for me. Happy knife day 🤓 What a cool community and tool 🫶🏼 taken in Knife by @sirmitchellot

Just finished this sheath up for a good buddy of mine @sirmitchellot he did the blade mods to this MagnaMax Mule, copper washed/rounded spine/@t_r_m_3rivers diamond textured G10 scales and flame ano'd hardware, mirror edge, looks sharp! Had to go digging in the bushes like an oversized rabbit to get the sheath back 🤣 Kydex turned out cool, I love using this translucent kind from @holstersmith Neat being able to see the blade. I gave it sort of a frosted glass texture. 90's Jazz solo cup vibes anyone??🕺 by @sirmitchellot
