My first cat celebrating his first birthday required a special celebration and as his favourite thing in the world is food, I decided to make him a cake using his favourite ingredients and he loved it 😻 It was a lot of work, I even baked the treats myself but it was worth it to see him enjoy it so much!
If you want a recipe for the treats let me know and I’ll drop another video of that!
How do you celebrate your cat’s birthdays?

I don’t know Halo or his owner, but like so many others, their story touched me and pushed me to make this post. I got permission from @justin.sutherland_ to share his video, and I’m grateful he let me. Rest in peace, Halo🤍

Justin didn’t know minoxidil could kill a cat. Most of us wouldn’t have. That’s the point of this post: you can’t avoid a danger nobody told you about.

Before you give your cat anything, a treat, a plant, a product, a new diffuser, take a minute to read the ingredients and google “is ingredient x safe for cats?” It takes a minute, and it can make the difference.

Everything in the carousel comes from vet toxicology sources. It only helps if it reaches the people who don’t know yet.

So share it. Send it to a friend with a cat, post it to your story, tag the person who still diffuses tea tree oil. One share can reach the owner who needs it, and it might save a life.

Sources: ASPCA, Pet Poison Helpline, MSD Veterinary Manual and Vet Times. This post is awareness, not veterinary advice.

I’m not sure why IG flagged this as AI content, I’ve only used Canva and some elements from Canva 🤦‍♀️

Something to keep in mind when getting flowers for yourself or gifting flowers to people who have pets 🫶
⚠️ stay away from Lilies!
True Lilies and daylilies are extremely toxic to cats and can cause fatal acute kidney failure within 24 to 72 hours!
All parts of the flower are toxic to cats; leaves, pollen, petals, stem, even drinking the water they’re in can be lethal!

I shared this video a couple of times in a funny way but never showed what actually happened and I felt like sharing it now 🫶

Bringing a second cat or more to your house isn’t always the right decision or solution, I’ve seen it a gazillion times offered as a solution for cat boredom, cat waking their owners up at 3am, etc but it’s not always a solution!
Some cats really prefer to be the only cat in the house so consider your cat’s personality above all else and take your time introducing them to each other properly if you do get a new cat 🫶
The reason we wanted a second cat is to keep Suchi company when we’re out and about and also so they play together. They do play together but they still require attention and playtime with you, that’s the part that people don’t tell you about! So now you got two cats who need your attention and playtime and most cats don’t want collective playtime so you will need to dedicate a slot for each cat. I sometimes try to play with both at the same time, holding a feather wand in one hand for Mochi and throwing paper balls for Suchi to catch but it isn’t always successful as one of them feels he doesn’t have my full attention or gets distracted by the other cat and they stop engaging 😅 and that’s just on attention and playtime, everything doubles, cleaning, feeding, scooping, dirty dishes, the worry too!
I don’t regret getting a second cat because both cats seem happy with each other and are friendly with each other but just sharing my thoughts on the « get a second cat » generic advice …
Anyhoo, just me ranting enjoy this sweet video 🩵 by @sirsuchicatt
