POSTS STORIES REELS
Every film is a life itself, there are no two common paths. And this one is very special and dear to me. A new film The Illusion of a Quiet Night is going to be out soon and having its world premier at @visionsdureel .  I wanted to make a bright film about night in Ukraine that will show that whatever happens light will overcome the darkness and one day we will come out of the nightmare we are living in now.  This film is also an artistic experiment that was made in a form of happening - hundreds of people were participating in the process of filming all over Ukraine and on its occupied territories. I’m grateful to each and every person who was brave enough, honest and generous to share their stories, from which we created a collective portrait of a nation gripped by uncertainty and hope that showed that in spite of everything life goes on. We are very happy to welcome Kasia Boniecka to our #DocsConnect Conscious Filmmaking programme for “Trailers and Building a Story in Editing.” Kasia brings experience from films screened and awarded at Sundance, Berlinale, IDFA, Locarno, CPH and Visions du Réel. Her editing credits include Welded Together, My Dear Théo, A Picture to Remember and Bucolic. A graduate of the National Film School in Łódź, she later returned to teach directing and editing students for five years. Today, she continues to mentor filmmakers and lead workshops in editing and visual storytelling, alongside her work in documentary cinema. She is also a member of the European Film Academy. Together, we’ll explore how editing shapes a story and how a trailer can give audiences a compelling first encounter with a film. We look forward to bringing her perspective and experience into the editing conversation at DocsConnect. 🤍 #ConsciousFilmmaking #DocumentaryCinema #FilmEditing #Storytelling by @sisimbrium
We’ve been quiet. For a good reason. Since August, we haven’t shared much about #DocsConnect Conscious Filmmaking. Behind the scenes, we have been very busy. After receiving around 300 applications from across the world, we took the time to carefully select the people who will form our 2026–2027 DocsConnect community. And because our training is tailor-made, our work does not stop with selecting the participants. We look for the mentors and tutors whose work, experience, values and way of seeing the world can truly connect with their needs, visions and questions. This takes time. And we believe it is time well spent. Now, we are ready. ✨ Next week, DocsConnect Conscious Filmmaking begins in Sitges, with a six-day residential workshop bringing together an extraordinary group of filmmakers and creative professionals from across the world. Over the coming year, our 29 participants will move through three modules, connecting with some of the most inspiring voices in the industry and with each other — across borders, disciplines and generations. We are deeply grateful to each of our tutors for giving their time, knowledge, energy and generosity to this journey. 🎬 Meet our tutors Victor Kossakovsky — Oscar-shortlisted director (Gunda, Aquarela) Lucija Stojević — Award-winning director & producer (La Chana) Kasia Boniecka — Editor & EFA member, with credits across Sundance and IDFA Irena Taskovski — CEO of Taskovski Films & Mental Health Ambassador Bernadett Tuza-Ritter — Director & Founder of the Film & Wellbeing Centre Kristie Robinson — Impact Producer, DocSociety & GIPA Inés Boffi — Emmy & BAFTA-winning editor, with credits including Netflix Andrés Bartos — Director, writer & producer, Noon Films Alex Goekjian — Editor & DP, with work presented at Venice and IDFA Ainara Vera — Director & editor, with work presented at Venice and IDFA Anna Petrus — Filmmaker & former Artistic Director of DocsBarcelona Bartosz Bretes — Director & creative mentor Andrea Torres — social & envirement al sustainability facilitator Stay tuned ❤️ #ConsciousFilmmaking #TaskovskiTraining #FilmTraining #DocumentaryFilm by @sisimbrium
