Pippin ‘25

What a way to end things as a YP at First Stage. From start to finish, Pippin was a monster to take on, especially in four weeks. But it has been so fun taking on that challenge and along the way discovering new things I’m capable of. Pippin itself is such a special production about the value of life against being special, and it has taught me things about myself, my abilities and being happy.

Thank you to my amazing cast for undertaking this massive icon musical with me- we’re small but mighty. And thank you to my amazing directors, @bbeelow , @ashpatpatin and Paul Helm for putting up with us and working with us, and of course for their amazing direction. Also a big thank you to Jessica for some cool ass lighting, and Paul Ruffolo for making me look good in photos.

And a really special thank you to my parents who have always supported me in my theater endeavors without question. I would not be the same confident person today if I didnt have them.

And to think she said it couldn’t be done. We sure showed her didn’t we?

Farewell Pippin. Have a nice life in the ordinary.

🪷 Appreciation for Dinah’s Diner

This was a really cool weeklong experience. It’s a pretty fulfilling experience being thrown into a new script in the matter of a week, and it’s fulfilling as well to help the script get realized fully. Being apart of @worldpremierewi is cool because it helps art to grow! Peter Kao’s passion project, @lotustheatremke is great to see at the start of its journey. For the longest time I’ve always felt I was the only person of color in a room, and movements like these with other AAPI representation are really heartening to see. I can’t wait to see what happens next and what kind of meaningful art it can produce.

Thanks! 🍳

Mean Girls ‘26, closed 🦁⬇️

This has been a very different and amazing theater experience. Everyone- I mean EVERYONE in this cast and community is so vibrant, outgoing and supportive of each other. It’s been a truly heartening thing to do! Everyone involved in cast production and beyond for this show was so insane! Incredibly stacked!

Greendale is an actual diamond and I’m glad I’ve found my way to these amazing people.

Thank you @greendalecommunitytheatre

Thank you @amimajeskie for the wonderful and open work. You do really wonderful things and I can’t wait to work with you again!

Thank you so much to @natashabernovich who is an AMAZING stage manager and human being through and through, you truly keep us on TRACK!

And thank you to @jeffschaetz who took a score and laid it all out for us. A masterclass in effective and efficient direction as always. It was great to get to work with you again! When I think back to my days as a small kid in theater, I think of you on sound cloud plunking out and singing the learning tracks for first stage auditions. I think it’s just incredible how you elevate theater in your community and I can’t wait to see what you have in store next.

A shoutout to my hg @alyna.melodie who couldn’t join us for the shows and who we love dearly. Can’t wait for company with you!

It was also so amazing to experiment with doing social media. All of your receptiveness to ideas of mine mean a lot!!!
And just a big thank you to everyone in the cast. Your kindness and togetherness was such an incentive for coming to rehearsal. You all are so amazing <3

If it’s anything this show has taught us, it’s that all human beings are working through their own insecurities so kindness is a requirement! And to not be a dick!

With love,

🇵🇭 Kevin G.

Three Sisters, by Anton Chekov. 🪆

My first show at UWM MainStage, closed!

This was a really great experience, getting to see what working on a classic play on the collegic level was like! Everyone is cool asf and it’s the bomb dot com being on the same stage as these guys.

It’s also cool asf being in my first show with some of my freshmen friends- we got a long time to go guys 🇷🇺

For being an understudy- it’s a new and challenging experience, becoming off book on the side and trying to develop things on my own. Proud of being off book!
