Enjoying the City Club of Chicago 's monthly building community session and guess who I saw????
My highschool Counselor 💖 Mrs. Brown!!!
I started to cry seeing thst she looks exactly the same some 30 plus years later. To be in a space that Dan provides for Chicago 's educators, Entrepreneurs, Busines Leaders and Politicians to convene, and seeing Mrs. Brown who poured into me as a teenager .....

Beautiful, Gracious, Kind, Faithful, Supportive, Nurturing, Thoughtful Mama @judith.muhammad!
Oh Allah, thank you for blessing us with yout righteous one, obedient Woman of God.
So many stories, so many lessons...
Over 20 years ago when my Suns were in martial arts -- a few times a week I would really get to know Mama Judy and learn to love her and her whole family. @joyyadayz and Mike became my Sister and Brother and their children became my nieces and nephew. @grandmasteranthonymuhammad became baba and to know all of them is truly to love all of them.
We are praying for the family, our @thenationofislam family and we are here for you all.
Peace and Love Mama Judy, thank you for being in my life and so many others the same, always showing up for us, 10 toes down.
May Allah Be Pleased with her life and her beautiful Legacy.

I'm Grateful for my people, my tribe, those that support me those that love me --- this is what the song says. Artist - Lunar Vibes ~
* This is also my sincere sentiments...

I stopped to get gas and was met by a young lady who shared she's been interviewing and nothing has come. I asked her what field was she in, she mentioned she was a CNA. I shared an amazing new CNA school, training center and phlebotomy program on 75th Street. Called the center, connected her with @soulveg and encouraged her to follow-up with them ASAP. * Thank you God! 💛(Stop 1)

Attended the beautiful Home Going & Life Celebration of my dear friend @singladyjo 's precious mom, Benita Latimore at @stmarkunited Thinking of my late mother, June Porterand her United MethodistChurch Roots had me happy, proud and emotional😢. (Stop 2)

Amazing how God always shows up at the right time for us. As I parked, I was greeted with a beautiful smile from a beautiful amily friend, @lauraricedesigns. We walked in together ❤️. * Thank you God!💜

Then as I sat down, I was welcomed in by another beautiful family friend, @loismorelanddean -- who's known me my whole life, and as Jonita and the beautiful trio sang classical opera and Gospel ballads, the tears flowed without my consent...

Amazing how our most high God always provides, consistently shows up for us, even while grieving * Thank you God!🖤

I went to several work meetings and was blessed to see my PUSH family, my sun, his Godma @bbholistic @donnarodgers @danatoddpope @kya and my oldest sister @jpmaddox at @rainbowpush eager and excited to be trained as Deputy Voter Registrars.

For decades, Chicago’s high-rise public housing towers stood as some of the most recognizable—and controversial—buildings in America. Originally envisioned as a solution to urban poverty, many eventually became symbols of segregation, concentrated poverty, failing maintenance, and public policy gone wrong. By the late 1990s, the decision had been made: the towers would come down.

But demolishing the buildings was only part of the story. Thousands of families who had lived in these communities for generations were suddenly dispersed across the city, forever changing neighborhoods and raising difficult questions about what, if anything, should replace them.

This clip explores the final days of Chicago’s high-rise public housing—and the complicated legacy it left behind.
