Perfumes can be toxic to your child but Not automatically,

children are more sensitve than adults and that sweet-smelling perfume may seem harmless, but your child’s skin and respiratory system are still developing, and exposure to fragranced products can introduce substances that may trigger problems. Particularly in children who have sensitive skin, eczema, allergies or asthma.

1. FRAGRANCE CAN TRIGGER SKIN ALLERGIES
Most baby products are already heavily scented to mimic that “baby smell” and in most cases and in many cases act as a trigger on their skin to start a cycle of irritation ,allergies and eczema
Adding perfumes to their everyday routine has no health benefit and may just exarcebate the skin sensitivity
Note that , A child’s skin does not need to react immediately for sensitization to occur.

2. CHILDREN WITH ECZEMA MAY BE PARTICULARLY VULNERABLE

If either parent have a history of skin allergies, respiratory allergies or asthma ,then such children are usually at a higher predisposition to atopic dermatitis and may already have a compromised skin barrier. Research has demonstrated contact sensitivity to perfume and flavouring substances in children with atopic dermatitis, suggesting that fragrances can aggravate skin problems in susceptible children.

If your child has eczema, unexplained rashes, itching or very sensitive skin, fragranced products deserve extra caution.

3.Pthalates as allergens & endocrine disruptors

Research on phthalates which are chemicals that can be found in some cosmetics and fragrances has also raised concerns about respiratory health & potential endocrine activity.
In the times of rise of metabolic diseases , Hormonal imbalance and reproductive & endocrine health in young adults
It is imperative to start protecting oour children from as young as possible
In a study of children with asthma, higher urinary levels of certain phthalate metabolites were associated with increased airway inflammation and poorer measures of pulmonary
Recent research has also found associations between early-life phthalate exposure and certain childhood allergic outcomes. by @sistazcorner

AI or Not
Children are meant to be protected and do not deserve to be used as pawns in the production and distribution of such distasteful and harmful content.

I commend @officialnaptipnigeria for acting swiftly and investigating the matter and for the good citizens of Nigeria who cried out when the videos started making rounds on social media .

Children deserve to grow up feeling safe, loved, and protected. Therefore ,everyone has an obligation to fulfil
Women, Men, teachers, children , parents .
We can help reduce the risk of sexual abuse & exploitation by

•Ensuring a level of effective regulation on certain media platforms in Nigeria
• Teaching children about body safety and personal boundaries both at home & at school
• Helping them understand that they can say no to unwanted touch even from familiar adults and cartakers .
• Creating an environment where they can talk to us without fear of blame or punishment.
• respecting childrens concept of privacy and manging who has access to them.
• Taking changes in behaviour, fear, secrecy, or discomfort seriously.
• Teaching children not to keep secrets about touches, messages, gifts, or interactions from their parents & caregivers .
• Supervising online activities and teaching children about online grooming and inappropriate contact.
• Most importantly, believing children when they speak and acting to protect them.

Many chronic diseases in older adults are diagnosed only after complications have already developed.

Too often, the complication becomes the first sign that something has been wrong for a long time. By then, the disease may have progressed silently and significantly.
Hence why hupertension is called a silent killer .
This is why prevention, regular health checks, early screening, and paying attention to subtle changes in older adultsare so important.

Early detection can mean earlier treatment, fewer complications, better quality of life, and healthier ageing.
The age of onset of chronic illnesses keep dropping
As we are seeing many you g people in their late 20’s and 30’s being diagnosed with Hypertension, obesity and its complications and Type 2 Dm amongst others

For some patients,
a stroke becomes the first time they discover they have hypertension.
A bad cough , becomes the first time they discover a cancer metastases
Studies suggest that roughly 1 in 4 hypertensive patients presenting with a first stroke may have been previously undiagnosed.” by @sistazcorner

Read till the end and help someone out there

Cholera is a serious diarrhoeal infection caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. It can cause sudden, severe watery diarrhoea and vomiting, which may lead to dangerous dehydration and death if not treated quickly and appropriately.

Cholera is mainly spread through the faecal–oral route when food or water becomes contaminated with the faeces of an infected person.
This can happen when:
💧 Drinking contaminated or untreated water
🍲 Eating food prepared or washed with contaminated water
🧼 Poor hand hygiene, especially after using the toilet or caring for someone who is sick
🚽 Inadequate sanitation and sewage

Ensure to

💧 Drink safe, treated water
🧼 Wash your hands regularly with soap and clean water
🍲 Eat properly cooked food and keep food covered
🚫 Avoid unsafe water and food
⚠️ Watch for sudden watery diarrhoea, vomiting, weakness, or signs of dehydration.

If you or someone around you develops severe diarrhoea or vomiting, seek medical care immediately. Do not wait for symptoms to become severe.

Madam better come in 2 weeks for an obsteric scan and to start ANC registration.

Natural methods like LAM “Lactational amenorrhea method” which can naturally delay the return of menstruation after childbirth and therefore delay return of fertility, has certain conditions to it.

Conditions
-Applies to mothers who are breastfeeding
-infant must be <6months
-infant must be on exclusive Breastfeeding
Pumped or Directly fed or both (no water)
-woman must still be amenorrhoeic

Limitations
- you may start ovulating , even before menses return
- Many mothers end up forgetting to get contraception at 6months
- Effficacy is breastfeeding dependent.
- Does not protect from STD’s.”
-
- it is not a foolproof method of contraception.
- The only method of family planning that guarantees no pregnancy or STI 100% is abstinence.

Know the limits, know your options, and choose a contraceptive method that fits your needs. 💕
