For me, @sistersummit_ is about connecting. Connecting with other women, connecting with nature and connecting with myself. My intention going into Sister Summit this year was ‘support’. Twenty women in @lyngenexperience lodge, on a stretch of Norwegian fjord, for four days. The room held professional athletes who’ve shaped their sports for decades, and women only a few seasons into theirs. Mothers. Women planning to become mothers. Women choosing another path entirely. Guides who lead expeditions for a living. Filmmakers telling other people’s stories. A chef. A psychologist. A massage therapist. Every woman arrived with her own reason for being there. Within days, women who may never have crossed paths in their everyday lives weren’t strangers anymore. No ego. No gatekeeping. No proving. Just women existing fully — in their sport, in their bodies, in their voices. Trust forms quickly in places like this. So does the feeling that you’ve known each other longer than you have. nourishing @sistersummit_ Amplify✨🇳🇴To “eat Ayurvedically” is to eat in a way that’s deeply in tune with the weather - inside and outside of the body. We want to put in what nature provides to us, when she provides it. And we want to put in what the body needs, in the moment that it asks. And it turns out that the North of Norway is one of the most lovely places on the planet to do just that. Designing the Ayurvedic-Norwegian menu that fueled the connection + couloir hunting for this incredible group of women was an interesting feat - one that I couldn’t have done with out the creativity + openness of @__lukas__luke @lyngenexperience + @emmers_restaurant - to help me explore ingredients I had never worked with before and bring them into a balanced offering that fed mind, body + soul on this transformational and powerful adventure. Sea buckthorn, lingonberry, wild asparagus and broccoli, chanterelle, morel, and the wild fishes of the Barents and Norwegian Seas are my new best friends, and the honey-fudge, ginger cookies, porridges, congees, risottos, teas, and energy truffles in my Recipe Library took on completely different identities in their company. (The Tahini-Honey Fudge served with Sea Buckthorn Ice Cream + Dark Chocolate Crumble feels like my soul on a plate. Divine!🧡)Many of the dishes we made can’t exist again until I step into a kitchen north of the Arctic Circle again. But the foundational principle behind them is one I’ll recreate in my kitchen again and again until then, and you can too. Food prepared with love, compassion, intention, purpose and awareness fuels our bodies with transcendence. Joy and love are ingredients that provide the superpowers to create, inspire and empower our greatest feats. I’m so proud of the love we brought to the table in Lyngen. It’s amazing how impactful just 5 days can be 🤍🇳🇴So grateful for this special time at @sistersummit_ — surrounded by such talented, strong, and inspiring women in the mountains. From glitter on our cheeks and morning warm-up dances, to moss scrambling through thick brush to embracing every kind of weather imaginable… this trip felt like pure magic. Rain, snow, flat light, maybe a 🌈 and then suddenly—if you waited 20 minutes—you’d get a pocket of blue.We spent stormy days learning crevasse rescue, slowing down with yoga and meditation, and whenever the clouds cracked open, we raced for playful spring couloirs. Our giggles echoed through the Lyngen Alps the entire trip. My last morning tour, during a sunrise blizzard, reindeer crossed right in front of us… one of those moments that didn’t even feel real.There’s something so powerful about being surrounded by women who encourage each other to grow, push comfort zones, and still laugh through the chaos along the way. Huge thank you to @hedvigwessel and @lexidupont for creating such a meaningful space for connection and adventure.Navigating through the Lyngen Alps would not have been the same without our bad ass guides @carolinewaregeorge @caronorthofficial & @hildedrok. It was wonderful learning from you ladies. And the FOOD… wow. Every meal by @lentinealexis felt cooked straight from the heart—fresh, nourishing, comforting, and honestly some of the best meals I’ve had. Feeling very inspired to bring some of that intention back into my own daily life and meals.Thanks @lyngenexperience for the best accommodations! A special place I hope to return to.
