I also have to say that my market adventures are never the same when I’m on my own - a shout out to my bff and friends/family who have carried so many bins of pottery, kept me awake on long drives, brought coffee, watched table so I could have bio break, brought me food before I even realize how bad I need some, and driven in circles to find perfect unloading/loading spot. Thank you all for the support for me to continue to do what i love. ♥️

If you are looking for me in October….I’m likely well caffeinated, splattered in clay, losing time in my garage studio. However, November is a whole different story!

I’m excited for my month of creating (around my work schedule)…but also excited for a market filled November!

If there is anything from the past you are hoping I’ll be bringing to markets this year - I would love to hear. I can’t make any guarantees but I find that sometimes a suggestion can be some good inspiration (and often a reminder of things I used to enjoy making).

Embracing the Fall feelings today. Continuing to enjoy collecting all sorts of dried bits from my garage collection and from friends for my tiny vases and wall bud vases.

Moving slowly today, puttering in house and studio while waiting for kiln to cool to pack my last box of pottery into the car to head to the West Coast tonight.

Excited to have my daughter coming with me this weekend for the Tofino market ❤️ I’ve also had it on my list for a long time to get some earring pictures - so I’m very excited that she is packing her camera. Looking forward to some beach exploring with her while getting some photos - who knows what kind of adventures we might get up to!

Well…it’s that time of year again. Current state of kitchen table. It just might be time to bring in the cool weather pottery drying cart. Also time to work on putting up my diy curtained off “warm” room in garage once again so it’s a little cozier for throwing and pottery can start to dry.
Sigh….but I sooooo love the open garage door studio days….not quite ready for the shift.

Eeeeeep….coming soon - my very own Sisu Pottery roadside stand! I have some work to do to get it all ready - but hope to get some wee things in there in the not too distant future. Haven’t quite got it all figured out yet….but ideas are percolating!
I have been in love with roadside stands for as long as I can remember….so it feels extra special to be able to be able to create items for my very own.
p.s. I wish I captured the adventure of getting it in and out of the truck ummmm it was a little scary to say the least….but we did it. Thanks Dad!

Today I’ve been having one of those days where I feel like I’m ping ponging between tasks. I started cleaning the studio and then somewhere in the process was inspired to just pop inside and start making soup?! (Yeah I know - random). Then paused to grind a couple of my pottery shelves and kiln wash, then started on some slab side plates…and paused again to throw a handful of tiny vases with another pause to take a few pics (with Louie throwing me a judgemental eye).
It definitely has felt like a fairly productive studio day…although perhaps a little more scattered than usual (I am pretty happy about the soup though lol).
Excited for my last market for October this Saturday in Tofino and then having a short market break for some concentrated studio time until markets begin in November.

Mushrooms made it out of the kiln juuuuuust in time for the Harvest Market @erringtonfarmersmarket this morning! Almost all set up! Live music is warming up, yummy smells coming from Wild Roots Cafe, and vendors are set up in the sweet forest booths and in the field. Here from 10am -1pm!
ps I definitely brought more than just mushrooms! by @sisupottery

Kiln is firing so all the garage studio tasks I have in my brain for this studio day are on pause till it finishes. So this is me just peeking through the window…impatiently waiting…adding to my list to water the studio cacti.

No pottery in this one. Just felt inspired by this moody feeling day and the slick beach rocks. Slowly working on making my way into the garage studio today but it’s taking a bit to ease the fog off my brain. Also find I move slower after a weekend of markets…need a bit of extra time to reset and feel ready to dive back in.
So going to wander for a little more…and work on my mental list on where first to begin.

Sometimes the weather at a market can surprise you. Today was one of those days. I was prepared with wooly socks and multiple wooly layers and I actually ended up wearing short sleeves for part of the day. It was a beautiful market day and eeeeep so many lovely creations to peruse from so many talented vendors (I once again couldn’t help but do a wee shop!).
Thank you to all who dropped by today ❤️
Excited for tomorrow at the Ucluelet Sunday Market!
